Be THE One. For Yourself and No One Else.
For once, focus on ourselves.
Be THE ONE for ourselves.
Be the person who focuses on yourself. There is no point in being envious. It does not change your life one iota. You are still where you are, while the one with accolades moves on.
Instead, be so angry that you can harness that energy for use. Use it to improve yourself. Dig. Dig deeper. Dig into your belief system. Awaken the caged lion.
You need to believe that you are worthy of more. Intelligence is bestowed. Ambitions are not. Be the ambitious one and work for that one chance to shine.
Learn to observe. Observations will not fail you. Do not see the glitter people carry with them. Their accolade is theirs, never yours. They blind you because you focus your eyes on them for too long. Instead, shut your eyes and start observing.
Observe the blood, sweat, and tears they shed to get there. Copy their bloody work ethic!
Sometimes, we fall. You wonder, as we always do, what went wrong. No, you did nothing wrong. You did not do enough! People who found success earlier than you have paid their dues. You THINK they started at the same start line as you did. Not true. They might have paid that price 3 years ago, working on their dreams across multiple late nights. Were you sleeping then?
You might have been, and it is okay. It is your turn to work late. Do not shy away from it. You have to want it, not need it. Good things happen when you want it badly. Keep working, keep learning.
And stay focused. You have a long distance to cover. Never assume that copying others gives you the same results. Yes, you copy to accelerate pieces of your journey, but you want to be yourself. Therefore, focus on you. Forget about them. Focus on getting better by learning from the best. And then, be the ostrich. Put your head down and work. Do not look up and stare at the population of glitters.
Glitters blind you. That constant visual assault distracts you from earning your pot of gold.
Heads down and work that mojo. Accept that those with glitter start from zero. Fine, so be it. Begin from -100. Focus on getting to the BIG ZERO and earn our self-respect. Self-respect comes before recognition. No one needs to know how much effort you are putting in. Remember, you cannot be seen. You are below the zero-line.
It is a place where silence prevails. A quiet mind breeds intense self-reflection. The process of metamorphosis begins.
And when you do look up, be happy for others when they make it. Do not be stingy with well-wishes. They walked the long road you have never seen. Ignore the glitter of their crown jewel but respect their battle scars. They fought as hard, if not harder.
So, focus your energy and attention on the process of becoming worthy. The ring allows entry for those who earned it. Earn that entry right, your opponent’s recognition to fight you at their best, and slay that inner demon of inadequacy. Laugh a big laugh of satisfaction when you are bloody, dirty, and dusty. The Man In The Arena lives a glorious life.
Till then, be in the moment. Stay focused. Be THE ONE for yourself. You will achieve many things in life with intent and ambition. That will be the future, not today.
Today, we celebrate that pinch of improvement. -90 is brilliant if you start from -100. Let us make a pact to get to -80 tomorrow. There is no guarantee. We try.
And never be a sore loser. Be genuinely happy for others when they hit their mark. They deserve it. Great stuff there, Liam Ireland!
I know I do not deserve anything yet.
And so, I avoid looking at people with glitter.
I focus on myself. I work.
And maybe, I will get to -85 tomorrow.
