Auntie Ghost

A poem from the soul of a tree

Photo by Jeremy Bishop on Unsplash

Auntie Ghost What happened so you could not be relied on.

You said you would come back and do your dance and keep an eye on Giant me

As I’ve been swaying leaves and branches Used by people Talking lunches Ill at ease but not with me.

In trusted secrets I am found One listening tree on solid ground In wood chip alterations Mighty proud.

But if you’d like to make your presence felt You could breeze in What the hell

As you’ve been gone so long it seems.

I might be here in sixteen years unless some philistine appears and wants to build those box-like modern houses.
