Astrological Ages as Found Within the Bible

From Adam to Aquarius

The Garden of Eden by Lucas Cranach the Elder — Image Credit

As I have written about in previous articles, the opening chapter of Genesis is actually designed according to astrological principles. Each day is associated with one or, more usually, two types of lifeforms that came into being during one stage or another. Each stage builds on what has come before.

This form of structural growth is at the core of the seven days of Genesis as this article makes clear.

Now, however, let’s move on to the second creation account.

4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens, 5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. 6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. (Gen 2:4–6 KJV)

This second account takes place at the end of the last ice age. The retreating glaciers create the heavy mist. This marks a time around 13,000 years ago.

The Age of Leo

Age of Leo 13,000 to 11,000 years ago — My image

This was the age of Adam. The Sun rules the age as the glaciers fall back opening up endless fields that soon become grasslands filled with grazing herds of herbivores. This is the age of Adam the hunter, naming the animals as he samples their meat. This age lasted 2,160 years as does every age.

Precession of Earth’s axis around the north ecliptical pole — Credit

Astronomical ages are based on the phenomena known as the precession of the equinoxes, which has to do with a wobble in the Earth’s axis as it rotates. This wobble causes the orientation of the stars to shift by thirty degrees during a period of around 2,160 years. It is all rather complicated, but the upshot is that 13,000 years ago the planet was in the age of Leo.

During the age of Leo, there was only Adam and his God, the Sun. This is not to say that there were no women or children. It is just that at this period when Adam was the hunter and the fields were filled with game, the Sun god ruled absolute.

Then, after two thousand or so years, things were looking less optimistic. Those endless fields of grass had slowly become swallowed by spreading forests. With less grassland, there were fewer animals grazing, meaning meat on the table.

The Age of Eve

The balance of power shifted from hunter to gatherer.

Age of Cancer 11,000 to 8,700 years ago — My image

This is the age of Eve. It is up to Eve to find the solution to the worsening conditions. This means that women have to gather more, putting them in the position of determining what is good to eat and what isn’t.

For an in-depth examination of this question and the story behind Eve’s disobedience and punishment, I’ve written this article.

The age of Eve continues right up to the point when she and Adam get evicted from the garden.

The Age of Gemini

1 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD. 2 And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. (Gen 4:1–2 KJV)

Eve gives birth to Cain and then Abel. Sure, they aren’t twins, but they are close enough for astrological symbolism.

Age of Gemini 8,700 to 6,600 years ago, with evil Virgo— My image

Here is where things get interesting. During the age of Gemini, things associated with Gemini are considered morally good. At the same time, things associated with Virgo are bad. This is because as the planet Mercury rules the signs of Gemini and Virgo, it gives power to both signs. It gives strength to Gemini, which is the sign of the age, but it also gives its power to Virgo, which is opposed to Gemini.

The story of Cain and Abel provides the perfect example of this dynamic. Remember that Gemini is the outward-focused, experimental aspect of Mercury, while Virgo is the introverted organizational aspect of the mind.

3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. 4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: 5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. 6 And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? 7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. (Gen 4:3–7 KJV)

Cain brings as his offering fruit of the ground, meaning grain and likely fresh baked bread. Because Cain is a farmer like his father before him.

Abel, on the other hand, brings meat from the flock that he tends. The whole idea of being a shepherd is an innovation. People haven’t tasted meat since back when they lived in the garden.

That’s why the Lord is satisfied with Abel’s offering but not with Cain’s. Because, at this point in the plan, experimentation is to be stressed and backward thinking is to be punished.

Mercury, god of the mind, of spirit, is telling people, more Gemini, less Virgo. More octopuses, fewer clams.

The Tower of Babel

This age deserves its own series of articles but for now, it is enough to hold up the story of the tower of Babel as an illustration of the duality of the age.

1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. 2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there. 3 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter. 4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. 5 And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. 6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. (Gen 11:1–6 KJV)

The people speak one language and come together for a single purpose, to build a tower. This sense of unification is very unlike the essence of Gemini. It has a major Virgo feel. It as though the tower is the spiraling shell of a snail.

Snail shell — Image Credit

Geminis thrive when engaged in multiple projects while communicating through a variety of mediums. They always have different things going on in different languages using different parts of their personalities.

7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech. 8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. 9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth. (Gen 11:7–9 KJV)

These people were acting like Virgos and their punishment is to live as Geminis. The same thing happens to Cain. He is cut off from the ground, so he must innovate.

Noah and the Flood

The flood marks the point in the narrative when the age of Gemini is closing and the new age of Taurus is beginning.

The age of Gemini was an age of innovation when a variety of experiments were being conducted simultaneously. When that age came to a close, only one experimental line was selected from all of the candidates to take part in the next stage of the projects.

Sorry to all of those prototypes that were not chosen.

Congratulations to Noah and his family for having been chosen to take part in the exciting new age of Taurus.

Noah and his ark represent the journey from an age that revolved around multitasking and experimentation to an age based on the breeding of livestock for selected traits. The outgoing Elohim didn’t really understand the concept of genetic diversity when drawing up the requirements for the ark.

19 And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female. 20 Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive. 21 And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them. 22 Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he. (Gen 6:19–22 KJV)

In the section above, the old Elohim says two of each animal ought to be enough. Notice however that in the next chapter that the character God has been replaced by the character Lord.

Seven-sphere structure of Venus — My image

1 And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation. 2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. 3 Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth. (Gen 7:1–3 KJV)

The new Lord (Adonai) replaces the Elohim that was in charge before and informs Noah that he actually needs to take seven pairs of every clean animal and seven every type of bird as well. That’s because the new Lord is Venus who rules the coming age of Taurus. Seven is the number of spheres that make up the structure of Venus. Venus understands the needs of genetic diversity although seven pairs are technically still too few by several magnitudes.

The Age of Taurus

Age of Taurus 6,600 to 4,400 years ago, with evil Libra — My image

While Noah marked the shift from one age to the next, Taurus didn’t really get going until the adventures of Abraham and the patriarchs. Everything that happens during this section of Genesis is directly concerned with breeding and competing bloodlines.

1 And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken. 2 For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. 3 And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac. 4 And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him. 5 And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him. 6 And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me. 7 And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? for I have born him a son in his old age. 8 And the child grew, and was weaned: and Abraham made a great feast the same day that Isaac was weaned. 9 And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking. 10 Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac. 11 And the thing was very grievous in Abraham’s sight because of his son. (Gen 21:1–11 KJV)

In the next section below, Isaac is told by his father that whatever he does he must not marry a Canaanite. The focus is on maintaining secure breeding lines. This is the age of Taurus, which is focused on the regulated breeding of good stock.

1 And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things. 2 And Abraham said unto his eldest servant of his house, that ruled over all that he had, Put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh: 3 And I will make thee swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell: 4 But thou shalt go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac. (Gen 24:1–4 KJV)

The countersign to Taurus is Libra. This was the sign of art and dance. This is the sign of the arts of seduction and love-making. This is the sign of the sacred prostitute.

Sexual intercourse brought on by seduction and attraction and not careful planning was the greatest evil of the age.

Judah and Tamar, Horace Vernet — Image Credit

24 And it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt. 25 When she was brought forth, she sent to her father in law, saying, By the man, whose these are, am I with child: and she said, Discern, I pray thee, whose are these, the signet, and bracelets, and staff. 26 And Judah acknowledged them, and said, She hath been more righteous than I; because that I gave her not to Shelah my son. And he knew her again no more. (Gen 38:24–26 KJV)

The story of Judah and Tamar illustrates the moral lines of the age. If Tamar had been a prostitute then she would have been burned. However, it turned out that she did what she had to do in order to fulfill her breeding obligations, and so she was praised instead.

She wasn’t a Libra whore, she was a Taurus cow. And so she was praised.

The Age of Aries

The age of Taurus ended with the rise of Moses. When Moses caught his people worshipping the golden calf, that was unacceptable, because the age of Taurus, dominated by an obsession with breeding and bloodlines, was over.

A brutal new age, ruled by Mars, a brutal new Lord, had dawned.

Age of Aries 4,400 to 2,300 years ago, with evil Scorpio — My image

This is the age of Aries, the sign of plants. It symbolizes empires and the laws that run them. This is the age of empires and laws, judges and kings.

Aries is opposed by the countersign of Scorpio (arthropod) which represents the soldiers and slaves that serve the empires of the world.

Photo by David Clode on Unsplash

Plants are valued more than insects. When locusts swarm, no one is on the side of the locusts.

The state and the rules that organize the state are valued higher than the individuals that make up its slave and soldier classes.

The law is more important than the person enforcing the law. The slave has less value than the empire she serves.

We will explore this age in greater detail in future articles.

Age of Pisces

Age of Pisces 2,300 to about 100 years ago, with evil Sagittarius — My image

Pisces are fish. Fish are the poor masses. One should love one's neighbor as one loves oneself.

Sagittarius are birds. They are the rich and powerful, lords and ladies. They can be bloodsucking vampires draining their subjects of strength and hope if they so choose.

Jupiter gives his power to both. To the good and loving as well as those who would sacrifice us all to their insatiable will to power. Jupiter gives his strength to the compassionate but also to the psychopathic. To both predator and prey.

Being a decent, caring person is good and all, but being a psychopath is the key to acquiring real wealth and power.

Age of Aquarius

Age of Aquarius from 1914 AD until about 4000 AD, with evil Capricorn

We are currently in the age of Aquarius. Aquarius is all about elevating one another while we wisely adapt to a world balanced on the edge of cascading systemic collapse. Together we will face and overcome the challenges ahead on our way to a better tomorrow.

Capricorn is the opposite approach, where we fall back on tradition and superstition. We should do things the old way because the old way is best. The best of times were in the past, the future will only get worse. Our only hope is to return to the way things used to be.

And Capricorns won’t associate with people who do not share skin color or language or culture or sexuality or religion or whatever because everybody should stick with their own kind, the way God intended. The evil that has befallen us is because of the sinners in our midst. We just need to identify and sacrifice these damn sinners and then the world will return to the golden days of yesteryear.

This is the ethical choice we face in this new age. Will we join together to face the challenges of the dawning age with curiosity and a willingness to explore systems and beliefs that were once considered taboo, or will we continue to be defined and confined by prejudices and superstitions that have finally outlived their usefulness?
