As A Creator, We Have To Ask Ourselves The Hard Questions
And our answers tell us where we are at with our work
What do you really want out of your creative work?
Can you answer that question honestly? Here are a few ideas of how you might answer that question:
- I want to sell thousands or tens of thousands of books.
- I want to make passive income that surpasses my 9–5.
- I want to become an influencer in a specific niche.
There are a lot of ways you can answer these questions. However, you need to ask these questions in order to actually make whatever you want happen.
But it doesn’t stop with this simple question, that is only the beginning.
Am I willing to invest the time, energy, and resources toward my goal?
What about this question? Can you answer it honestly?
Are you willing to spend the time every day working on your project or craft to actually get what you want out of it? Are you willing to put the money on the line when it is required?
So often, creatives make excuses about not having enough time. Or they spend time telling people how they don’t have enough money.
Well, it’s time to decide. Are you willing to make it happen? If not, you may want to quit or find something else you want in life.
Where are you at right now in your journey?
Yesterday, we talked about prioritizing our creative efforts. And in that post we shared some questions to ask yourself about where you are at now. Here are a few of them:
- What is your goal as a creator?
- What is the most important things you could be doing to fulfill those goals?
- Are you actually doing those things?
Answer these questions and figure out where you are right now in your creative journey?
Once you know that, you are on your way to getting what you want out of your creativity.
