Are You Downvoting Books on Amazon?
You may be trashing an author’s rating
Amazon ratings — those five golden stars (or the lack of them) seem to tell us something useful.
However, I’ve noticed some very harsh reviews on fellow LitRPG authors. Take this one for ‘Zee Locked In’ by Justin Monroe:

One star because they don’t like swearing? Wow! Apparently some people can’t get enough of their own opinion.
But it’s not just very low ratings. Consider this — anything below 5* will reduce a popular book’s average. Even a 4* rating can be a down-vote.
Readers, you’re entitled to your views, but bear in mind that this negativity can harm an author’s career. If you don’t have anything nice to say, do you really need to say it at all?
