Are You Creating a 2024 Vision Board?
What do you envision for the new year?

Putting your goals into a visual format can help you achieve them. Vision boards can be so powerful if you do them with the right intentions and if you believe in the vision. It’s what’s important to you and you should see it every day.
Vision Board: A visual representation of what you want to create and manifest in your life. It’s a collage of images that is meaningful to you. They are images that represent or remind you of your goals. Your board can be digital or physical.
Why a vision board?
Often, we set goals for the new year and then things get busy. We have projects, deadlines, and family events. No matter what your goals are, a vision board is a great tool to keep you on your journey.
The images on the vision board should stay in front of you as a daily reminder. They become an inspiration. It keeps you from losing sight of your vision for the year.
If you don’t see your vision, it won’t be in your mind to take steps toward your goals.
Preparing for your vision board
It’s not about stressing out or making enormous demands on yourself. Relax and have good thoughts about where you can see yourself. Your vision should be attainable. It’s where you want to be at the end of the year.
Pick a date and remove all distractions during that time. Taking the time to create a vision board should be fun. You should be comfortable. You can set up your environment for this time. Wear something that makes you feel good and comfortable. You can have your favorite drink or put your favorite scent in the air. Enjoy the process.
Step 1: Write it down
Write in a notebook or on your computer.
- Write everything that is important to you.
- What are the high-priority things you want to do or accomplish?
- What areas of your life would you like to change or grow?
- Write goals you can see happening. Goals that require work but are within reach.
As you think about what to write, allow yourself to stay within reason. Your mind and subconscious have to understand that these goals are attainable, or they won’t work.
Step 2: Find images
Now it’s time to find the images that match the goals on your list.
If you’re going the physical route, look for them in magazines and books. You can also use small objects to put on your board. Make sure you have the right glue strength or tape.
If you’re going the digital route, find them on the Internet. You can use places like Unsplash, Pexels, Google, and Pinterest. Sometimes Google and Pinterest don’t have high-quality images. So choose your site wisely.
Give yourself plenty of time. It will take time to find the photos that resonate with you.
Step 3: Creating your vision board
There are two ways to create your vision board. One way is to create with physical cut-out images and the other way is to create with digital images.
The first way: physical vision board
- Buy a poster board or construction paper and glue.
- Select all images you want from magazines or books.
- Cut out your images.
- Arrange your images.
- Glue (or use invisible double-sided tape) your images to your vision board.
Your board can be any size you like. It can be as small as a sheet of paper, construction paper, or any size of poster board. If you can’t find a small poster board, you can buy some and take them to a paper or print store and have them cut.
The second way: digital vision board
Many free online programs can help you create a vision board. Two are Pinterest and Canva.
Once logged into the site:
- Either search for images or upload your own.
- Choose an appropriate layout.
- Insert or drag-and-drop images into your layout.
- Arrange your images in a way that is visibly pleasing to you.
You can save and print your board. You can also frame it.
Where to put your vision board?
Put your vision board in a place where you can see it every day. This will help you remember your goals and stay on track. You are immersing yourself in a visual representation of what you want or hope to achieve. It creates a positive image in your mind, making it easier to believe that you will achieve your goals. It increases positivity, motivation, and self-confidence.
What you don’t have to do
- Put timelines on everything.
- Make your board too busy.
- Make your goals unattainable.
- Stress about accomplishing everything you put on your board.
Tip
Use a current image and change it to reflect your future goal.
- If you have 2K subscribers and you want 10K, take the image of your profile with the subscribers and change the number. Place this edited image on your vision board.
- Take an image of a book. Write the title of your book with you as the author.
Conclusion
A vision board is a reminder of what you want to create and manifest in your life in the coming year.
When you write your goals on your vision board and see it every day, you are more likely to achieve them.
