Boomerangs — a new publication accepting writers over 50!
Hey — thanks for popping in.
Boomerangs is a new publication for Baby Boomers by Baby Boomers! Well, more specifically for those of us that have crossed over the big five-oh!
We’re currently accepting writers over 50 that like the freedom to crank out great stories from their life experience without stifling their personalities.
If you’ve gotten this far in life, you’ve got amazing stories and wisdom to share with our readers, and we want to hear from you. It’s a safe place on Medium to share, learn and continue to grow together without judgement.
We’re looking for real, authentic voices that aren’t afraid to get vulnerable.
Some of us have just started our journey on Medium, while others have been around a while, but we’re pulling together to form a solid community of writers and readers.
Liz Porter (owner/editor) and Art Bram (editor) join forces to make a difference on this platform. We welcome new writers and those of you who need some help finding your way through this maze called Medium.
You can expect interaction from us because there is nothing worse than submitting your darlings and hearing nothing but crickets for weeks! Whether we accept, reject, propose edits or just tell you when you’re being published — you’ll hear from us within 48 hours.
That’s our promise to you.
We’ll also promote your work on Twitter and through our newsletter to help find more readers for your work. We may also start a Facebook group as we grow, but for now, we’re focused on your work and don’t want to get spread too thin.

We love creative stories from the heart that move us towards a better version of ourselves. We also appreciate a good takeaway, but let us pull what we need from your story.
Don’t preach the details like it’s a sermon; we’re too old for that stuff.
Boomerangs is also a great place to relax and be your funny self. If you need to vent a crazy situation or rant about an experience that our readers can all relate to — have at it!
If we laugh, cry or get angry when we read your work… you’re kicking butt, and we’ll want to publish more of your work! Yes, you’ll need to follow all of Medium’s Guidelines and Rules, and you’ll need to read the guidelines for Boomerangs as well to get the full scoop.
As previously stated, we welcome new writers but we’ll expect your work to be edited. At the very least, run it through Grammarly or a similar tool. Sloppy work gets rejected.
If you’re an experienced writer with loads of followers and you want to throw us old dogs a bone and help us get this publication out of the gate, we aren’t too proud to accept!!
