What the hell is a hyperlink?

It wasn’t too long ago that I said those exact words to my good friend Kim. She’s a lovely girl, so she didn’t laugh, well, in my presence anyway!

She’s much younger, so I’m sure that simple techie question had her wondering about my mental capabilities.

The good news; she was patient, and I mastered the hyperlink situation.

And since then (2017), this old dog has been learning new online tricks, especially after deciding I needed a website.

Holy…what a fiasco that was!

I’ve come a long way, but it’s been super challenging. Just when you think you have something figured out, things change, and my ratty keyboard is evidence of the frustration!

I don’t think anything stays stagnant online for more than a week — and don’t even talk to me about what an overnight algorithm change can do to screw up a business.

If you’ve written on Medium for more than a minute, you know what I mean.

Enter my daily glass of Cab Sav at the end of a long day!

That brings me to the reason for this article!

The Boomer generation has so much to offer others online, but we’re held back by fear and the technical skills we were never taught.

I think that's a shame, so I wanted to start a publication that showcases our talents to our readers while supporting one another in a non-judgemental environment.

That’s why I’ve given birth (can you believe it @ age 59!?) to a new publication just for us older folks learning new tricks. I’ve named it Boomerangs because no matter how hard we get thrown, we keep coming back!

We’re Baby Boomers, writing to empower others towards a better life with our true stories, life experiences and insight.

We’re not grumpy old buggers; we’re extremely wise thirty-something-year-olds rebounding and retiring online. Boomerangs share life lessons about recovering our power, making money, improving relationships, and all aspects of health and personal growth.

We also share humour and rants as we learn, vent and laugh at our crazy mistakes.
