Are You a Blogger or a Content Writer Before You Start to Write?
Sharing my perspective on the style of reading
Have you paused to understand the apparent difference between the two types of writing?
Blogging involves creating regular, informal, and opinion-based posts on a specific topic to engage and inform readers.
Content writing involves creating informative, structured, and fact-based content to educate and provide value to their readers.
My perspective
There have been numerous discussions on Medium where writers encourage others to go for a content writing to grow their following and readership.
To do content writing, one must have a comprehensive understanding of the subject that you are writing. For example, if you write an article on “Daily exercises for our health”, you must give relatively helpful information.
It will be an advantage if you are a fitness trainer training for a living. You know what you are trying to teach exactly.
My reflections on my writing
Looking at my past articles, I don’t think I will fall into the category of a content writer because my pieces tend to dwell on sharing my observations and experiences in my life.
My sharing is relevant to my culture and may not be fully adaptable to yours. Hence, my opinions may be subjective.
Besides, it gives me greater joy to share my life experiences than to research and give my readers facts and figures.
Hence, I will continue my style of writing, which leans towards blogging.
What can you learn from my sharing?
You may already establish your writing style, and congratulations to you. Keep at it and write more regularly if you are not doing so. You will gain more followers by writing regularly. Most importantly, you must enjoy your writing!
