TONI TALKS | 𝒜𝓊𝑔𝓊𝓈𝓉 12𝓉𝒽 | TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY
Anticipation is Making Me Wait
This OR That【ʙᴇSᴛ ʙɪʀᴛʜᴅᴀʏ ᴇᴠᴇʀ】

January of this year, the poetess who writes under the pseudonym pockett dessert shared a birthday questionnaire. The sum of the answers stitched together a story about what would constitute the best birthday ever. Since my special day was 8 months away, I had way too much time to complete this post.
Exactly 365 days from now, I’ll reach a huge birthday milestone. That said, my answers are future-casted to 2024. Now that my 59th birthday has rolled around, I realize the answers spoke (with a great degree of clarity) about the gift that holds the most value to me… 𝑮𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒅𝒓𝒆𝒏.
I dared to answer differently. Thought outside the box. Dreamed out loud. Applied the technological wizardy of AI to indulge my imagination in ways that conjured future images of my daughter pregnant. First with my grandson, then with my granddaughter.
Then I advanced their ages to create a tapestry, and further wove even more pictures in, to strengthen the fabric of the story. They were rendered by Remini, an Artifical Intelligence Application. My likeness is the product of the Lensa App.

My daughter and I played around with these images when she came home, from London, to celebrate Juneteenth. I like to believe the visuals planted seeds of an idea that germinated in her mind.

Happy 59th Birthday To Me!
Manifestation 101. The dream has taken root. My daughter is coming home for Christmas to have her eggs harvested. Or did she say those words to get me off her back? Time will tell the truth of that tale.

Could It Be: Just My Imagination… Running Away with Me?
Grandchildren would bring me optimum joy. Even if it’s just one. Not just for my birthday. Anytime of the year.
Ironically, what I want most is out of my realm of control.
Real Talk: At this point in our lives, my husband and I are still healthy enough to be a blessing to our grandchildren. I’m realistic about the facts of life. Decline and aging are inevitabilities. Though we feel great now, neither of us is immune to getting older. I pray the day will never come when we become a burden to the people who love us most.
Since this is my fantasy, I’ve taken the liberty of naming the figments of my imagination. They riff off, Toni. Tori, my granddaughter, will look like my daughter’s mini me. Tony, my grandson will share my name. I’ll affectionately call him… “Lil T!”

One Step At A Time: My daughter, is gay, and has not settled on a partner. As of this moment, modern medicine hasn’t advanced to the point where four X chromosomes can be mixed in a test tube to produce a child. She’ll need an XY donor.
My #1 Draft Pick to be My Grand Babies Daddy
Charismatic comedian, Trevor Noah is the perfect 🧬 genetic specimen. He’s kind, empathetic, outspoken, multi-lingual, smart and has killer dimples.
Trevor brilliantly hosted the The Daily Show. He’s a total badass. He walked away from a multimillion dollar contract because he just wasn’t feeling it anymore. That speaks to his character.
The icing on the cake is that Trevor loves, respects and reveres his mother and late grandmother. He’s no stranger to hard work, seems to be a genuinely happy guy, and his name starts with a “T!”
I just finished listening to his book on tape, “Born A Crime.” Bought it as a birthday present to myself. There are many parts I want to go back and reference. It’s a welcome addition to the vast personal library collection I’ve amassed.

Let’s play the six degree’s of separation game. If you know Trevor Noah, please route this post to him. Tell him, I’m echoing what his mom said to his biological father when she was dead set on having a baby.
Clarify that the ask is only for his DNA. Low key: My daughter doesn’t do dudes. Regardless, the man Trevor became is a testament to how well his mother’s strategy worked.
BTW: Trevor leads with his whole heart. It was evident in an episode of “The Daily Show” taped in Sowetto. He’s gone back home to interview his late grandmother, who he affectionately called “GoGo.”
It reminded me of how much I adored my late grandmother, pictured below.

Time isn’t on my side. I want my grandkids to spend every summer with us, just like I spent the first 12 summers of my life on my grandparents farm.
Right now, my husband and I still have the energy and vibrancy to keep up with little kids. In my minds eye, I see us all traveling across the USA in a luxury Recreational Vehicle.
Since my daughter lives in Europe, I want to be sure that my grandkids have a healthy appreciation for just how expansive and amazing America is. Since the ascension of the orange president the exported news is mostly awful. Racism has and will always exist in America. Yet, there are far more anti-racists in this great nation.

Gifting my grandchildren with an understanding of their African American roots, will aid in their mental and spiritual development. I want to share stories, just like my granny did, about the resilience of our ancestors. Her true tales anchored and kept me grounded. Pride in who I am stems from being proud of my heritage. The life I live today, is the stuff of my ancestor’s wildest dreams!

👉🏾№1: Surprise OR No Surprise 📢 [ ✔] 💌
I love surprises. I’ve been dropping hints for a while. They fell on deaf ears. Took matters into my own hands. Enlisted a travel agent. Bringing in my 60th birthday on a boat. Going to see Mykonos, Santorini and Crete!
👉🏾№2: Cake 🍰[ ✔]or Pie?
Pie’s are for picnic’s. My favorite cooking show is Cake Boss. Buddy is an amazing artist. I’d commission a collection of eclectic multi-flavored cakes, replete with a range of caricatures. Taste sensations would tickle the tongue and tummy. They’d also be camera ready. The order would include, red velvet, caramel, german chocolate, coconut, milk chocolate, strawberry cream cheese and confetti.
👉🏾№3: Large 💥[ ✔] or Small?
Gotta supersize a milestone ➡️🅱🅸🆁🆃🅷🅳🅰🆈 📌
👉🏾№4: Alcoholic 🍸[ ✔] or Virgin?
Sweet, fruity drinks please. The quote Pocket added was hilarious. “One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor.” — George Carlin
👉🏾№5: Cupcakes 🧁 [ ✔] or Brownies 🎂 [ ✔]?
Add both, like a garnish around Buddy’s multi-flavored cakes.
👉🏾№6: Hats 🥳 [ ✔] or No Hats?
We’ll be island hopping in the summer, suffice it say we’ll need hats.
👉🏾№.7: Steak 🍴🥩 [ ✔] or Taco ?
Taco’s are for Tuesday’s. I love steak! I was partially raised on a cattle farm. My favorite cut is filet, second sirloin or T-bone all grilled medium well.
👉🏾№.8: Family (ง •̀_•́)ง[ ✔] or Friends?
Going with extended family. Nothing like celebrating with the people who’ve known and have loved you all your life.
👉🏾№.9: Home or Destination [ ✔] 🤿
My 30 birthday party was a huge affair at home in our backyard. I’ve always wanted to go to Greece… 60 years was long enough to wait.
👉🏾№ 10: Presents 💰 [ ✔] or No Presents?
Visually unwrapping the presence of people, gathered in the spirit of love, is the best present ever! Cash gifts will go directly to my daughter to aid in underwriting the procedure that will bring me a 🍼 grandchild👩🏽🍼or two!

𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗿: I look absolutely nothing like this. I fed an ancient snapshot into Ai to see what it would spit out. Back in the days I wore contacts. Only glasses 👓 these days. Vanity be damned. Mamma’s gotta see!
