An Open Letter To The CEO Of Guess & My Bold Ask!

It’s about super-snazzy, steel-toed stilettos. Yes, super-snazzy.

Dear Mr. CEO of Guess,

This is an SOS request.

Guess shoes help keep my business running. Literally!

Why are your shoes so important to me and why am I panicking about a recent decision you made?

I published my first book, “ Hired! How To Get The Zippy Gig. Insider Secrets From A Top Recruiter .”, five years ago. It became an Amazon best-seller in both Canada and the USA within 24 hours of going live. It’s written in a fun, creative, edgy and bold way. It isn’t your average dull resume book. I’m a Canadian biz woman (and speaker) who owns one of the top recruitment firms in the country. I’ve been covered by loads of national media up here.

I’m wearing my absolute favorite red Guess Myrick shoes on my book cover.

They are like Dorothy’s famed “red slippers” and should be in the Smithsonian museum. GRIN.

Sadly, this amazing line of Guess shoes has been discontinued. I’ve bought as many pairs as I could find. I have them in red, black, bone, gold glitter and metallic snakeskin. The full front row of shoes is still in working order. The back row shoes are all out of commission with cracked heels. (I’m a bit tough on shoes!).

Here’s my crazy ASK to you.

Is there any way you can perform some magic and get these shoes back on the market?

You are, after all, the CEO.

Or, perhaps there’s a Guess warehouse of discontinued, lonely shoes that might be brimming with your Myrick heels with no one to love them? If so, I’m an 8.5.

If there’s any way you can keep me in supply of my beloved Guess shoes, I’ll give a shout-out to Guess from every stage I stand on!

I have another bold ASK.

I’m starting to write the second edition of my book, Hired, to be released in a few months.

Here’s my bold ask. Might I be able to quote you?

1. What’s your favorite interview question?

2. What’s the best end of interview question you’ve been asked?

3. What are the one or two things you’d like to see more from candidates?

I’ve enclosed a copy of my book for you. Signed, of course.

Stay tuned for the reply from Mr. CEO of Guess.

Till then, I’d love for YOU to think about the above questions too! Drop me a note if you’ve got any juicy ideas.

Thank you for reading. Here are a few more stories:
