An Open Letter to my Readers-Septic Debacle once Again
Part of Dora’s Travesty of Justice

There is more red tape with securing an officially stamped document that shows the final permit on the building and the septic as they are tied together. But, the septic and building departments don’t speak to each other or the general population but alter the rules at will.

I re-purchased my property in Greece in 2012 from my soon-to-be ex-husband at the time, Donald. There was an enormous amount of paperwork, hoops, and potholes. This process took years as well as the property in the United States. The difference is my second lawyer was honest (notary lawyer who does specialized contracts: (συμβολαιογράφος δικηγόρος) and a close friend who helped me. I first used the lawyer who aided Donald and me when we bought the property-a scoundrel, but you never pay anything until there is a contract. The few hours of work required to investigate is gratis, it was a win.

Here on the other continent, I hired an architect in Washington state who said that he was in the know and could finish the project in 6–8 weeks two years ago. He was recommended by the county! He has come back for more money. I fired him one and a half years ago. I negotiated an amount to pay him after navigating through his lies. The monies are based on the work he did before firing him. My lawyer will draft a letter contingent on this elusive document. It will be certified and completed as well as the final payment of funds. There will be a clause that stops him from receipt of any more monies justified or not. He has changed the goalpost too many times, so I need a contract. Before payment, he will get me a certified document proving completion and agree to all monetary stipulations.

Meanwhile, my new lawyer hatches a plan after reviewing the mounds of evidence, understanding how many errors and damage caused by the first lawyer, thus ending the two-year hiatus in the land of incompetence. I will also file a case with the Washington State Bar against these previous attorneys for their repeated felonious behavior including extortion. They were even recommended by a sitting judge-something is wrong with that picture.
Welcome to the new old west where the fun never ends.
