Reading and writing. And yes, we would write anyway. We are writers. We are poets. We are blessed and cursed with this beautiful craft and art and desire. So, yes, we are here writing and writing our hearts out because we love it and we love the community and the readers and each other and poetry.</p><p id="8e5f">Yes, we love writing, yes we love writing poetry, yes we are blessed to have this space at all. But, did I mention we hang out here a lot?</p><p id="2f18">It is quite a lot of time, in conclusion, that we all spend here, and maybe it feels silly to some of us now when we have to tell our loved ones that we made .70 cents today after publishing 5 poems, reading 50 things, you know — I mean, we enjoy it, it’s just … slightly embarrassing I guess, now.</p><p id="53a0">Not that you owe us anything at all it’s just ….it was nice when it felt like a job- job (aka almost real job!) with great potential given so many of us are here …an excessive amount of time, really.</p><p id="be21">Poets are readers as well as writers. We contribute a lot to this space. Hello, Poet here.

Can you please do something to elevate and protect the status of Poetry on Medium? Perhaps give us a Medium Publication?

I will help. Plus a few of my Poet friends. We are good at working together. It will be easy and painless. And unique and cool. There’s no other place like it online, really. Well, there was no other place like Medium online for Poetry prior to “the changes” that pretty much slashed a few dreams and such, I suppose. So. But, I digress, this publication idea: let’s try it?

Also, can we have some kind of Christmas/Holiday bonus to make up for the loss of half of our earnings? We are a good community. We have kids and such, and books to buy, and secret Santa’s to get gifts for, and mochas to hopefully enjoy, and rent and such, and so on. Because suddenly I think a lot of us feel like Oliver — please, Medium, can we have some more?

Oh, and, potentially, if possible, perhaps, maybe can you send us a sign to let us know Medium can still be a unique and rewarding, a productive and kind space for Poets. This we can dream it and be it and add our mostly quality content in a way that it can also in turn earn enough to pay a few bills and moreover, really, to sort of justify how much time we all spend here a day, reading and writing, and sharing, and reading?
