Poetry prompt day:-13

An Ocean of Words

So much to pick up from

https://www.wallpaperuse.com/vien/Toihbm/

Sahil took all the writers to a special place, called the Ocean of Words.’

He told us about its beautiful Marine Life.

That there were small fishes such as Nouns, Pronouns, Adverbs and Adjectives found here.

There were snakes as well. Known as Simile and Metaphor, very poisonous though.

Then there was a school of Personification, Exaggeration, and Onomatopoeia found too.

And if you were lucky, you could also meet the super friendly ‘Euphemism.’

There were many more species but unfortunately, it was time for us to leave.

But he warned us about being very careful, not to catch any of these species.

If caught catching the wrong fish, one could be jailed by the ‘Grammar Nazis.’

Sahil, I couldn't think of any other way to thank you but to start my poem with your name. So my idea is that you have taken all the writers on Medium to the Ocean of words, and inform us about its beautiful marine life. Of course, I have tried to play with words here by using the figures of speech in a creative manner. Hope you all like it.

Here’s his take on the prompt above.

I can’t wait to read the versions of the above prompt from amazing writers such as Josh Balerite Acol, Dr. Preeti Singh, Lucy Dan 蛋小姐 (she/her/她), Dr. Fatima Imam, Ntathu Allen, A Rustic Mind (Manali Desai), and last but not the least our very own Geetika Sethi.
