If the supposition that life is a race is true, as racers, do we race on equal ground?

In this age, life is perceived as if it’s a race with a start line and a finish line and podium space is reserved only for the winners. You are either the best of the best — number one — or you’re one of the rest. Since this world only sees and recognizes the winners, the rest is compiled into one big heap of others who don’t deserve the good things in life because they lost the race.

What isn’t focused on is this: let’s say I agree with the perception that life is a race for the sake of this argument — do we, as racers — race on equal ground against our opponents? Do we prepare with the same resources?

My Take:

A race should have the same starting line and finish line for all of its racers, right? But for some people, the start line and the finish line’s distance is shorter than it is for other people.

For some people, every time they get close to the finish line, someone places it even further because they aren’t adequate enough to get that “prize” that’s waiting for them at the finish line. They have to work harder to earn it. And this process continues like Sisyphus pushing that boulder up the hill.
