An Easy Way to Give That 50 Claps

I had to learn this the…dumb way — Update

Or in this case, how can you applaud an article?

I recently read a piece by Nancy Blackman describing the difference between giving someone a simple one or two claps, or giving them the full 50 claps. It may seem vague to choose the option between these two but as she mentioned, I also think that this helps the writer in hand. It can bump up the stats in the algorithm and it’s another way of helping out and truly engaging.

I have seen some writers here and there that I can sense are newbies and always give out one clap. Of course, when you just get started, you are anxious to write and engage, so you may not have read Medium’s description to the fullest. So here is a quick heads-up, you can clap up to 50 times!

And oh boy, don’t do it as I did. I would click the mouse for every clap. Thinking back, how dumb was I! 😅 But nonetheless, I did it. Because I knew the value of doing so. It took more time but I just did it.

Then one day, it happened. I hold the click for more than a second and I saw that it automatically increases the number of claps. Another facepalm indeed. It’s way easier this way, huh?

So with that being said, I wrote this article because it can maybe be a possible possibility that someone is on the same stage I was before. I hope it can help another newbie writer out there.

If you would like to read Nancy’s article, I’ll leave it down below. And another thanks to her too! She recently shared that with a Chrome Extention, you can clap only once but the 50 full claps will appear! Can it get any better than that?!
