Way down the Suez Canal close to the Mediterran’, there lived a cargo ship named Evergreen.

Made of hunky metal, meant for shipping goods, an ironic name for something that’s not wood.

Never really learned to steer and drive so well, it blocked the whole canal and made the transit hell.

Go go! Go, Evergreen — go go!

In case you missed it, this is based on a true story. A ship — Ever Given, of Evergreen Marine — drifted and wedged itself against the floor and sides of the Suez Canal on March 23rd 2021, blocking all shipping traffic through one of the largest shipping lanes in the world. The ship, and the subsequent efforts to free it, have since become a stream of hilarious memes. As it stands, it could take weeks to get the ship dislodged — so let the memes keep coming.
