Abstract

The publication Ai-Ai-OH has announced its participation in Medium's Boost nomination pilot program, which allows editors to nominate stories for increased visibility by Medium curators. Ai-Ai-OH Gets a Boost!

…And other recent news from the publication

Have something to say about artificial intelligence, but having trouble reaching a larger audience?

You’ll be happy to hear that Ai-Ai-OH is now part of Medium’s Boost nomination pilot program.

If you really have no clue what that is, it means I can now nominate your story to be “boosted” by the Medium curators, meaning you’ll potentially have a lot more eyes on your work.

However, with this new ability to boost, comes higher expectations from the editor(s) at Ai-Ai-OH.

That means I’ll be looking for well-crafted, insightful, even funny drafts that have previously been unpublished on Medium. (I don’t want your old stories that have been “tweaked”.)

Your story should be between around 750–1,500 words, formatted well, and clear of typos. But that’s just the basics.

In order to be published here, I need you to adhere to Ai-Ai-OH’s writing guidelines, and also Medium’s quality guidelines.

Seeking human takes on artificial intelligence

We’ve had some great stories lately from new authors, including:

What I Learned From My AI Girlfriend on Replika by Sanjay Singhal

AI: The Biggest Existential Threat to Medium and Other Content-Driven Platforms by Chuck Miller

The Queer Question in AI, Or My Gay Gripes with Grammarly by Faithe J Day

I hope that these talented authors submit more quality work now that this pub can boost!

We’re raising the bar

I may ask writers to make improvements/tweak their copy if I think their story has potential for a boost. Otherwise, Ai-Ai-OH will not be disclosing whether your story was nominated, or if it was declined.

The secret will be to submit every story like it’s gold. That way, you’ll raise your standards without feeling like you’re working harder than usual to get a boost consideration.

Thanks to our writers, and also to our newest subscribers to our publication! Oh, and also thanks to Medium for including us in the program!
