Advice to the Introvert
A poem about struggling in a world run by extroverts

friend, I know it’s not easy to be still and quiet in a land of boorish talk, where people prance on stage in the importance of what they have to say, as though each event and encounter is as grand as a Shakespeare play.
it is hard to be heard when the meanderings of your pen is louder than the utterances of your tongue; for in this land the prerequisite of leadership is not what is thought, nor the attention to the space between the thoughts, but to be a lawyer shouting down the other with jaw muscles bulging in self-admiration of victories of being right, leaving the others skewered in their wrongs.
no, friend, it is not easy remaining upon the seat of contemplation in a world crowded by salesmen.
but do not despair; it is with angels you do sail who flee this worldly din.
