Adulthood, Means Taking Responsibility For Your Actions
How white privilege and carens reared their ugly heads once again in a lawsuit

The Caren Bill of 2020 was instituted for a reason and not just for a season. Many people of color have been harmed, arrested and even murdered due to a caren’s call for help, when the reality did not warrant such.
Last year, so many caren’s calls happened which is why a bill was needed to stop the madness mostly against Black men. Christian Cooper, an avid bird watcher politely asked a Caucasian women, Amy Cooper, no relations, to put a leash on her dog as the New York Central Park signs mandated for this bird watching area, to protect the birds. As Amy Cooper became hysterical calling 911 claiming he was about to harm her, Christian videotaped the entire episode. Thank God he did, otherwise he could have been shot, killed or incarcerated. While this video went viral on social media, received much news coverage due to the injustice of the entire act, many were astounded to see this happening in New York City’s largest park.
Consequently, Christian Cooper after a few interviews regarding the incident has gone on with his life as he made it clear that he did not wish any harm or charges filed against Amy Cooper but her employer fired her from her job over the incident.
Here we are 2021, Amy Cooper has filed a lawsuit against her former employer for firing her due to the Central Park incident as she accused them of firing her before they investigated the incident. Really?! What was there to investigate? It was all on video and the world saw her behavior. What type of investigation was needed? Do tell! Obviously, Amy Cooper has not learned to take responsibility for her actions as she repeats another scenario or part 2 in a lawsuit.
Her former employer, Franklin Templeton, took action based on what the whole world saw. Is this lawsuit about money or more publicity? She called 911 on an innocent Black man and could have gotten him murdered, now she files a lawsuit because she wanted more investigation before being terminated from her employment. All this sounds like another caren’s act.
Unbelievable, in the lawsuit she stated that it wasn’t racism but fear that led her to call the police on the Black man. If that is true why did she cry so loudly a black man as she spoke with 911 with such desperation. Fear? Christian Cooper never made an attempt to go near her, plus she had a very vicious looking dog at her side. Also, she stated that she was being aggressively confronted and her former employer would have known that had they investigated the whole situation. Hello, the entire scene was caught on camera.
Wow! Interpretation is one thing but fact and reality was caught on video and no outcry otherwise can change this profound reality. Moving forward, Amy Cooper has accused her former employer of discrimination and that they would have done an investigation if she was not white. Really? Ms. Cooper needs a serious reality check. This sounds like white privilege speaks again, just like in Central Park. Being an adult means learning how to take responsibly for mistakes, and moving on not repeating them again. Well this is not the case here.
Kudos to Franklin Templeton who stated, “We believe the circumstances of the situation speak for themselves and that the company responded appropriately. We will defend against these baseless claims.” Bingo and they shouldn’t have too. Is this lawsuit about money along with white privilege?
Just like Amy Cooper was asked by Christian Cooper to go to another area in the park with her unleased dog, away from the bird area and she got angry and yell victim, now having lost her job, again yelling victim.
During her confrontation in the park, she told Christian Cooper that she would call 911 and tell them that an African American man was threatening her life. Her words bespoke of her intent, otherwise why not just say a man was threatening her. To add insult to injury, she made the call and said he was threatening her when in reality he was not as seen on the video.
Amy Cooper was charged with filing a false police report which was dismissed after she attended a counseling program that included racial equality education. Now, she is onto a lawsuit claiming being wrongfully fired and that that Christian Cooper had a history in the park confronting others whose dogs were unleashed. Ms. Cooper forgot conveniently one small detail, the signs that stated that dogs should be leashed in that area of the park.
In conclusion, Amy Cooper is yet suffering from what is called white privilege and cannot accept the fact that she was wrong and brought these circumstances upon herself. Time to move on and grow up. Stop the Karen act!
