Poetry | Emotional Healing
Absolution in Waves
Mirrored Nonet

As I stand inside its rising trough Aloft its crest that pushes back Falling forward to my knees Humbled by my pleas for The moon and the seas With its tidal Rise and fall To heal From Cold Frothy Murky brine Salt to the wounds Of my silent scores Shivering below my Flesh and bones thickening skin Of history within my heart Whence I’ve come to soak away my pain
This is a mirrored or double nonet, in terms of structure and syllable count, officially my first and second nonets! Inspired by this week’s writing prompt from Jonny Masters, to write about the sea.
In Florida, I don’t get a chance to visit the sea often, but like the sea, the beach with its ocean waves offers a similar chance to let nature work her magic to absolve us of our emotional pain.
