Get to know Nicole Kinkade

Hi, I’m Nicole

I’m a full-time freelance writer who’s joined Medium to build my tribe. My goals for the next 12 months include networking with awesome writers and editors, building my newsletter, and launching digital products like templates and ebooks.

My Passion

I’m passionate about writing online concerning human experiences. Robots don’t have emotions, and they can’t replicate what we think and feel. They can try, but you and I both know they can only do so much.

I also enjoy collaborating with like-minded people and reading their life stories.

The Work I Do

I started my freelance writing career at Apple Pie Media. My writing was originally ghostwritten, but the recent Google update favors human-written content, so the company decided to assign authorship to their writers’ articles.

My articles are written using SEO best practices. This includes easy-to-follow headlines, targeting relevant keywords, and link building.

Going Forward

My dream is to write until the day I die. That’s how passionate I am about writing. I don’t see myself ever retiring from writing. Writing is what calms my mind and clears the clutter.

The online writing space is changing, and I plan to stay up-to-date with its updates to stay in the game.

I’m looking to collaborate with other writers and businesses, whether it be as a staff writer, freelancer, guest poster, or affiliate.

• I was born blind and have had four eye surgeries
• My dad died when I was four years old
• I have a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and an associate’s in Media Communication
• My first job out of college was a Social Media Coordinator position at a nonprofit advocacy center for kids with special needs
• I used to work in a cemetery office
• I also used to work at an animal shelter
• I relax by snuggling on the couch with a cat and a book
• I believe mental health should always be your top priority
• Dr. Pepper is my poison
• But I prefer how I feel when I eat clean and healthy
• My favorite color is blue
• My life’s motto: “Lifelong learning is the key to success.”
