Who does your acronym say you are?
Vertically and horizontally, I am K. I write as K. Joseph on Medium. It’s a cloak of sorts. I cover up most of personal life. Some aspects seep out occasionally. However, most of my writing is a mix of dreams, memories, experiences, and ideas, like the ever-changing patterns of a kaleidoscope.
What genre(s) do you write across or your stance on writing?
- Fiction, and
- Thought Leadership: Change Management, People Management, Professional Development (Vision to Reality), About People (Interviews), Book Reviews, Cultural Opinion, Poetry …
I write what comes. Many ideas come to me. Ideas are always coming in and out of the foreground of my mind, like the waves on the water’s edge.

July 2022

How do you write? Showcase your process.
I’m a writer who is constantly brimming with ideas. I capture them in my trusty notebooks or jot them down in my Notes app. Throughout the week, I immerse myself in the rich content of Medium and HBR, devouring articles and engaging by responding and sharing them.

To nurture my creativity, I maintain a private Medium list where I save writing prompts that deeply resonate with me. When the weekend arrives, I dive into my notebooks and prompts, embarking on the creation of captivating stories. I aim to write at least two professional pieces per month for my LinkedIn thought leadership, along with two or three creative stories each weekend.
When I sit down to write, I open MS Word and let the ideas flow without interruption. However, I know my weaknesses, especially my inability to find mistakes in my writing. So, after completing the first draft, I rely on Grammarly and ProWritingAid for thorough proofreading.
In my quest for precise expression and streamlined content, I turn to ChatGPT, an invaluable companion. It helps me find better words, reduce word count, and even suggests SEO-friendly titles and subtitles. I meticulously revise my work, reading it repeatedly before finally posting it on Medium.
After crafting the final draft, I carefully choose a segment that captures the essence of my story. Plugging this segment into Discord, I collaborate with Midjourney to generate an image that complements my words. If I’m not satisfied after a few attempts, I turn to Unsplash for an alternative visual representation.

Supporting other publications is important to me, so I choose four or five different platforms each month to contribute to. Once my pieces get published, I become a marketer and promote them on various social media platforms, depending on the content.
To make it easier for my readers to find the articles they enjoy, I categorize and add my stories to curated lists. Sharing my stories brings me great happiness, and I find fulfillment in knowing that my writing resonates with others.
Why did you choose to write on/and or continue to remain on Medium?
I haven’t investigated going anywhere else. The people here are remarkable. I’m happy and I believe I bring joy. That’ll be all for now.
