About Me — Harold Zeitung

Writing under a pen name has freed me to express myself.

Pen name, pseudonym, nom de plume

Hello, all. I want to introduce myself. The name I write under is Harold Zeitung. I have been a member of Medium since the summer of 2018 and writing since 2019. I use a nom de plume (It sounds fancy, doesn’t it?) because I want to have the freedom to express myself.

Some things I choose to share would hurt those I love, such as I‘m Only Doing What She Told Me, a story about a very candid conversation my wife and I had more than 20 years ago.

I have two paid accounts. I wrote primarily under my given name, and I did pretty well. However, I wrote a first-person account of an incident in which someone died. A relative of the deceased was quite disturbed by my accounting of the event. This relative blamed me for the death and found a way to invade my real-world life. So now, I primarily publish under my pseudonym to protect my friends, family, and myself.

And now about me

I am semi-retired from public and private K-12 schools in Texas, U.S.A. I have a young adult daughter. My wife is also semi-retired. If you want to know more about me, you should read my stories.

I look forward to meeting you in the community.
