“Why be good when you can BGREAT!”
Who are you… is your name Brittany Greathouse or BGREAT?
Both! Greathouse is my real last name. I’m not changing it! My senior year of college I was homecoming queen, and the slogan my sorority sisters coined was “Why be good when you can BGREAT,” and it stuck. BGREAT is a play on my full name and it serves as a call to action to ‘Be Great.’
Where are you from and where do you live now?
I was born in the United States of America, in the state of Illinois, and grew up in a diverse suburb of Chicago called Bolingbrook. It’s about 30 miles from where Barack Obama lived. But I’ve been a resident of Chicago for the past 2 years.
Since January of 2022, I have moved to London, United Kingdom for my corporate career and will reside here for 2 years.
What was your first job?
At age 15, I worked in an ice cream shop in Naperville, Illinois. At 16, I got what I thought was my ‘dream job’ working at Best Buy. I loved working at those jobs but in all honesty I have been working for years prior to getting my first job. In junior high, I was a hard core hustler. I know this sounds crazy but I made thousands of dollars reselling gum and jewelry. I’ve always been a “hybrid-entrepreneur,” someone who juggles a full-time career and entrepreneurial endeavors. To be clear, both are important to me.
What does being a hybrid-entrepreneur look like for you now?
Since graduating college with a finance degree in 2014, I’ve worked for a multinational company called Accenture. My entrepreneurial endeavors include: operating an ATM business ATM STAND, the BGREAT brand, as well as a clothing and collectibles speciality imprint business Speak Volumes Merch.

Why are you writing on Medium?
I am NOT a writer, but my mother is. I have the attention span of a gnat. I love bulleted lists, videos, and gifs. However, I find writing therapeutic. I’m an only child but I was taught to share and that’s what I love to do. That’s what makes me want to write this blog. To share my background and experiences as well as the next few years as I embark on a journey to live overseas in London. I want to inspire you to give yourself grace, enjoy the journey, be introspective, and LIVE!
My life is now and has always been about diversification. No one can ever claim that I have put all my eggs in one basket! I love connecting with others and look forward to interacting with you.
