About Me — Alice Crady
As I pursue authentic wholeness, I am creating a process I love.

I am a passionate, persistent, and visionary woman pursuing wholeness and love. I thrive on courage. I continuously seek intellectual and applied knowledge, especially about life lessons, mental health, feminism, and relationships.

Like many of you, I experienced a winding path. I searched for the most meaningful and fulfilling work, from journalism and content marketing to UX research at tech companies. After a personal sabbatical, I reconnected with my love for writing. Now I write with vulnerability as my guide. I use writing as a way to inspire, empower, educate, heal, and connect.
My Best Medium Articles
I feel most proud of these six articles. You can quickly experience the raw emotions and results of the game-changing paths I’ve taken. Here’s a peek into my spirit:
“If you don’t deal with your demons, they go into the cellar of your soul and lift weights,” shared Amanda Palmer in an interview. Despite feeling small for most of my life, I have learned to deal with demons head-on.
I believe our struggles pave the way for our meaning in life.
I believe our struggles pave the way for our meaning in life. To the extent that I feel furiously angry about personal and societal abuse patterns, I feel passionate about understanding, healing, and preventing this abuse. I prioritize advocacy for feminine stories and values and emotional safety.
Embracing our emotions with compassion leads to wholeness.“Shame needs three things to grow exponentially in our lives: secrecy, silence, and judgment,” said Brene Brown, a well-known vulnerability researcher. I believe in sharing and embracing shame with empathy. Odds are, you’re not alone. That’s always been the case for me when I have shared shame feelings.
Medium Writing Journey

I began my Medium writing journey in July 2017 when I was “breaking into” the UX industry. I wanted to show people I understood UX. Writing has always helped me to process and learn. Once I landed a job at Google, I stopped writing.
Then last summer (2020), I completed The Artist’s Way creative recovery program and began writing regularly ever since. PS- If you’ve also done Julia Cameron’s 12-week course, let me know!
This January, I reached my current writing goal of getting eight articles published monthly. My current process is writing six days a week. Above all, I prioritize creating a daily process I love, including writing morning pages, taking a neighborhood walk, and doing some yoga each morning.
Through past financial mistakes, I have learned to keep my well-being first and always use my intuition for career decisions. As my creative writing expands, I feel excited to discover new opportunities.
Writing has become an essential part of my life. I often get lost while writing and editing these stories, letting hours slip away. I even forget to eat sometimes, and I love eating. I know I’m heading in the right direction.
I also love the Medium writing community.
I also love the Medium writing community because I get to read real, profound, and courageous stories every day from writers around the world. I love reading your stories and getting to know some of you more personally. Mostly, your ability to turn challenges into opportunities inspires me.
My Life in a Snapshot

At 27 years old, I live in San Francisco, California, near a lovely park. I love my relationships and hobbies. When I’m not writing (or doing writing-adjacent work), I’m most likely reading, walking or biking, making food, or making music (I play piano, write songs, play guitar, and sing).
Making music holds a special place in my heart because it helps me feel my emotions more directly. Though I intellectually understand deep concepts, emotionally, I may still be working through something like body image issues.
I also enjoy doing acro yoga, partner dancing, solo yoga, being a plant mom, meditating, using tarot cards, watching comedy, eating dark chocolate (or cookies or ice cream), and planning road trips.
As a child, I lived in more homes than I remember. My family traveled between several cities, most notably: Chicago, IL; Virginia Beach, VA; New Orleans, LA; and Nashville, TN. I believe this early experience has shaped me to be more curious, resourceful, and self-aware.
Four years ago, I moved to San Francisco carrying two red suitcases. This beautiful city feels like home for now. I love the open-mindedness, social progress advocacy, and easy access to nature.
