Hi. I’m Tanya, but my friends call me Tan. Pronounced “Taahn”, it’s what my mother-in-law calls me.

Truthfully, when I was a kid, I always hated it when someone “shortened” my name, but I find it oddly endearing coming from her.

I’ve always loved to read and always wanted to write a book. I’m a Florida girl. Born and raised. Y’all snowbirds know what I mean.

I’m an expert dieter — a.k.a constantly on a diet — see gif.

The ocean and my garden make me happy.

I’m a mother first, a house cleaner second (not by choice), the first college graduate from my side of the family, a skincare esthetician, an animal lover, and a Christian woman.

I love rainbows. 🌈

I have two biological kids and one awesome stepdaughter. I would call her my daughter, but she has a wonderful mother already 😉, so I’m better known as Mommy Tan (Taahn).

I have two rescue dogs. I had two rescue cats, but they ran away with the arrival of the rescue dogs. 😭

Got engaged over summer break to a guy I hardly knew and married him five months later — everyone thought I was crazy. That was 17 years ago.

My son was born on Super Bowl Sunday. The year that Giselle “just walked.”

I lived through Hurricane Maria in 2017. I spent months collecting rainwater for showers (& toilet flushing) and cooking from the light of my phone, all while carrying a baby on my hip. Thankfully, it’s become a distant memory. But I’ll have to write about it one day…
