Summary

Tanya, a mother and skincare enthusiast, shares her personal reflections and values through her responses to a modern adaptation of the Proust Questionnaire, revealing her thoughts on happiness, fears, virtues, and life achievements.

Abstract

The web content presents Tanya's introspective answers to the Proust Questionnaire, a set of questions designed to reveal the respondent's personality and values. Tanya describes her idea of perfect happiness as a state of peace and solitude, similar to the tranquility evoked by a serene seaside image. Her greatest fear is being alone, having lost her loved ones. She admires her mother's resilience and joy despite life's challenges and considers orderliness an overrated virtue, advocating for a bit of chaos in life. Tanya values honesty, kindness, and consideration in her friends and identifies with other mom writers who share the humor in parenting. She cherishes her life in Puerto Rico, her greatest achievement of natural childbirth, and aspires to play the piano to fill her home with music. Her heroes are veterans and enlisted soldiers, and she lives by the mottos that everything happens for a reason, with faith all things are possible, and to never give up.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?

My idea of perfect happiness is the feeling that I get when I look at the picture above. It’s peace and solitude. A calmness with no longing and worries.

What is your greatest fear?

I think my greatest fear is of being alone. Losing my husband, parents, and children all at once and me trying to make it in this harsh world alone.

What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?

Forgetfulness. It’s both embarrassing and irritating.

Which living person do you most admire?

My mother. She has been diagnosed with breast cancer twice, faced many challenges in her marriage (celebrating 50 years this month) and with her children (ah-hem: Me) and she is still the first one swaying to the music and enjoying every ray of sunshine that touches her.

I’m not sure how she does it, but I admire her.

What do you consider the most overrated virtue?

Orderliness. Sometimes you just need a little chaos in your life.🤪

On what occasion do you lie?

I find it really hard to lie so only when I deem it necessary for protection.

…Or when my daughter asks me about Santa Claus.🎅

Which words or phrases do you most overuse?

Also. When my son started using it in his sentences at 5 years old, I realized how often I said “also.”

What or who is the greatest love of your life?

My husband is the greatest love of my life.

When and where were you happiest?

I’m happiest when I see my children laughing or when I am enjoying a party that I planned for months. I love to entertain and to see it pan out among friends and family brings me a lot of joy. Exactly when and where varies.

Which talent would you most like to have?

I would love to play the piano. I dabble now & I can read music, but my Mother plays and I just love to sit and listen to her. I wish I could fill the house with music for my kids.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

My memory capabilities. I have an awful memory.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Having natural childbirth. My first child was born in a birthing center and it was the scariest thing I’ve ever done. But if I had it to do over again, I’d do it exactly the same. My son was premature, so I had to go to the hospital for him, but it was also a natural birth.

Where would you most like to live?

I currently live in Puerto Rico on the West side of the island. I love it here. I’m originally from Florida, so the hot weather doesn’t bother me. The waters are crystal clear and the people are so friendly.

If I didn’t live here, I would most like to live next door to my mother. 💝

What do you most value in your friends?

Honesty and kindness. And Consideration!

Which historical figure do you most identify with?

I don’t really identify with any historical figures, but I definitely identify with these two mom/family Medim writers. They are hilarious.

Who are your heroes in real life?

The Veterans and current enlisted soldiers who protect our freedom in America. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤💖

What is your greatest regret?

Not having children earlier.

What is your motto?

I have 3.

  1. Everything happens for a reason.

2. With faith all things are possible.

Also,

3. Never give up.

My father had this picture in his shop growing up and it still resonates with me.

I hope you enjoyed learning a little bit about me.
