my friends. I love deeply, with all that is inside me. The people that I love, I would do anything for them.

M Mindful. In the last year, I have rediscovered mindfulness, and it has helped me to find peace and balance in my life. Mindfulness is one of the keys to finding a measure of inner peace. I love board games, card games, watching Sci-Fi and fantasy shows. I love reading. My daughter and I have gone to Denver comic con and a bunch of other conventions for years, and we have learned that the best things always happen when you go to buy churros.

O Outgoing. I love being with people. I like to meet new people both in person and online. Connection is one of the best experiences in life. I have met some great people right her on Medium and the connection is amazing.

P Parent. Being a parent is one of the defining things about my life. I have been a mom for almost half my life now, my oldest being 19 years old now. I love being a mom and spending time with my kids. ABC’s of Me — Nicole Dake

About me in ABC format

Photo owned by Author.

Hello lovelies, I was challenged to write the ABC’s of me by Erica Marie so here we go. You guys can get to know me a little bit better. I hope you enjoy!

A Anxious. If you read my writing a bit, you realize that I have anxiety. I also have depression and PTSD. Quite a bit of my writing is focused on Mental Health, because I have been there with mental health issues of my own. I feel like over the years I have learned to manage them better, but it does take time. I want to help anyone who is still struggling, we do all have our bad days!

B Beautiful. Every morning when I do yoga, I end my practice by giving myself a hug and saying, “I love you, beautiful girl.” I feel like saying good things about ourselves, and to ourselves, has a huge impact on our mindset. I want to be a beautiful person, inside and out.

C Caring. I care deeply about other people. I care about causes. I care about what is happening in the world, both in my immediate sphere and far away. I care about everything that is happening in the world, and about people who are suffering.

D Dreamer. I have always been a dreamer. I believe that there is so much to life for us to take advantage of. Believing in my dreams is the first step towards making them come true. One of my favorite sayings is, “A goal is a dream with a plan.” I believe that we all have the power to make our dreams come true.

E Extravert. I have a very extraverted personality, and I thrive on being with other people. Spending time with the people I care about, or going for a night out, is how I recharge my batteries. I love hugs.

F Fun loving. I love to goof around and have fun. This is great with my kids, because I love to go to jumpy castles as much as my little one does. I love to play games, do crafts, or have a dance party in my kitchen.

G Generous. I believe that giving of ourselves, our money and our time is so important. I have been given so much, I want to give back and be able to help other people too.

H Happy. Finally, in my 30’s I have found happiness. Before that, I didn’t even think I was capable of being happy. Then I met the kindest, most caring man, and he showed me that happiness is possible. It also takes very little to make me happy, so it is honestly surprising I was so unhappy before that.

I Intuitive. I have always felt like I am the combination of a mystical soul and an analytical mind. I am deeply into spirituality and Buddhism. It flows through my writing and infuses it with a mystical quality at times. I use my intuition to find a path in life.

J Joyful. Joy is different than happiness. Joy we can find deep within ourselves through gratitude, compassion and love. There is always a deep well of joy within us, if we look at the good in our lives. This can be found even in dark times if we seek stillness and peace.

K Kind. Kindness is one of the things I value most highly. This comes from growing up deprived of love, and feeling like love always had to be conditional on performance. I have always strived to be kind to people who are suffering, because I understand what it is to suffer, and I never want another person to feel that way if there is something that I can do about it.

L Loving. As a mother, my life is so filled with love. My heart overflows with love for my kids, my partner, my friends. I love deeply, with all that is inside me. The people that I love, I would do anything for them.

M Mindful. In the last year, I have rediscovered mindfulness, and it has helped me to find peace and balance in my life. Mindfulness is one of the keys to finding a measure of inner peace. It teaches to be present in the moment, and I have found this to be incredibly valuable with my kids.

N Nerdy. I love all kinds of things like conventions and cosplay.

Z Zoo lover. I couldn’t think of anything that starts with Z in case you couldn’t tell. But I love to take my kids to the zoo when I have the time. Looking at animals is so much fun!

Now, you have gotten to know a little bit about me! I would love to see the ABC’s of all of you! If you want to read another ABC, here is the one that inspired me to take up this challenge.
