Russian forces have shelled Sievierodonetsk’s Azot chemical plant. Governor Serhiy Haidai, referencing the shelling, reported on Saturday, 11 June 2022 that the attack caused a massive fire at the facility.
Ukraine, despite the attack, remains in control of the Azot chemical plant. It is believed hundreds of civilians are sheltering at the facility. Russia-backed separatist claimed 300 to 400 Ukrainian fighters were also trapped there.

Russia, on Friday, 10 June 2022, formally withdrew from the UNWTO (United Nations World Tourism Organization). The organisation, because of the country’s war in Ukraine, had previously suspended Russia.

The United Kingdom, despite finding “gross failures of governance” in the overseas territory, decided against direct rule of the British Virgin Islands. The decision, coming on Wednesday, 8 June 2022, wasn’t easily arrived at.
The British government, according to Foreign Secretary Liz Truss, will give the territory’s new administration two years to reform. If nothing is accomplished during that time, from what is known, direct rule will be imposed.

Russia’s State Duma, the lower house of the Federal Assembly of Russia, voted on Tuesday, 7 June 2022 to end jurisdiction of the European Court of Human Rights in the country.
The bill, something anyone with a modicum of intelligence could have seen coming, was passed nearly unanimously. Only one of the lawmakers, a member of the Communist Party, opposed the bill.

A federal judge in the U.S. state of New York, Judge Sarah Cave, ordered on Monday, 6 June 2022 the seizure of two private jets. The two aircraft, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner and a Gulfstream G650ER, are apparently the property of Roman Abramovich. Abramovich, a well-known Russian oligarch, has been sanctioned by the United States.

It looks like Wales will be participating in the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Wales defeats Ukraine 1–0 at the Cardiff City Stadium to become the final team from UEFA to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. It is the first time that Wales has qualified for a FIFA World Cup since 1958.
“Wales defeats Ukraine to qualify for first World Cup in 64 years,” tweeted Reuben Abati.
