A Warning to the Queen

Queen Dyra stops her attacks on the dwarves, and spins around towards Death.

The grinning skull of Death’s face looks the same as ever, but it seems somehow more gleeful as he raises the scythe towards you and Dyra. “Time’s up,” he said. “The chase was entertaining, but the game is up.”

“Yes, it is,” says Dyra, and shoots Death with the ruby.

A blast of energy. The apparition’s black robes catch fire. Then his bones begin to melt. Somehow, his empty eye sockets widen in shock.

Moments later, he is gone, and the scythe clatters down onto the stonework.
