A Very Special Weirdo
March Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Pet People”
Defect or blessing? Cross-eyed and handsome!
I wrote about finding our cat Tango on Facebook:
When Captain Argentina and I decided Tango needed a brother, Facebook once again gave us our next family member. Friends of a friend found a cross-eyed cat and couldn’t keep him. We took one look at that face and fell in love.
It took Tango a day to come around to our way of thinking, but now he and Sébastien are loving brothers.
Although Sébastien seems to have some vision limitations peripherally, his straight-ahead vision is laser perfect. He doesn’t miss much!
We affectionately call him The Weirdo — partially because of his crossed eyes and partially for his personality that’s as unique as his physical appearance. He patrols our house, as if on duty as a security guard. He opens closets and cabinets, usually at night, looking for any evils that may lurk in those dark places. Unfortunately, he doesn’t close the doors he opens! We wake up in the morning and go about the house closing all the open doors, grateful to have a security guard cat.
