Summary

The website content is a reflective piece on the creation and impact of YouTube, presented through a poem and an invitation to contribute to a collaborative poetry project and YouTube channel associated with the ILLUMINATION publication on Medium.

Abstract

The content begins with a poetic narrative about the inception of YouTube by three friends, Steve, Chad, and Jawed Karim, who initially aimed to create a dating website but pivoted to establish the video-sharing platform on Valentine's Day in 2005. The author likens YouTube to a "Tube that brings you to Life," emphasizing its role as a source of entertainment and information, akin to an endless Rubik's cube that keeps users engaged and alive with fun. The poem is the author's response to a writing prompt from B. A. Cumberlidge, focusing on the theme of YouTube. The author then invites a list of writers to continue the poetry chain with the topic "Monday Blues," encouraging them to submit their work in any poetic form. Additionally, the content includes a freestyle piece by B. A. Cumberlidge on the topic "Rebel," which is part of the ongoing Never-Ending Poem challenge. The author also promotes the ILLUMINATION YouTube channel, providing a link for readers to view the channel and an invitation from Dr. Mehmet Yildiz for writers to gain visibility. The article concludes with a personal note from the author, Geetika Sethi, inviting readers to follow her on Medium and social media platforms.

A Tube that brings you to Life

It’s other than the fallopian tube

Way back in 2005 on February fourteen, 3 friends Steve, Chad and Jawed Karim, wanted to give the world something unseen, on that special day of love, called Valentine.

Cupid struck them, they decided a naughty plan, when all three used to work together at PayPal, they planned on making a dating website, that would surely freshen the onlooker’s sight.

But as luck had it, the plan got reversed, they made a site that’s even more well versed, you can search whatever in a click, need not wait, as it’s a lot like our publication — that Illuminates.

Whatever’s said and whatever’s done, it makes one come alive with lots of fun, crazy to figure sometimes like a Rubik’s cube, it’s the unlimited entertainment site — YOUTUBE.

My poem above is my response to the writing prompt I received by B. A. Cumberlidge. based on the never-ending poem with the topic being chosen by him as “YouTube”.
