A whiff of waffles will have to do

I heard it through the grapevine Amsterdam is quite fine or so says Tony Stubblebine

On his many travels last year did he venture must be lovely to make more than a tenner a day? Nay, a week (let’s be honest!)

Without a boost in our bonnets, such bicycle lined streets and Egyptian cotton sheets are but a woozy scheme we writers daren’t dream of, sheesh!

Is it so wrong to be poor? How dare we want more! Vincent Van Gogh, that tragic one-eared soul once said “There is no blue without yellow and orange” Oh, you think I can’t rhyme orange? We writers are but sporange,*

We are the oft invisible spores of the rich with our blooms Medium organism, crying out for more Pens, laptops, cups of coffee, heat, food, a bank account with juice?

There is no Amsterdam without Vincent, no Medium without writers who are often blue from cold algorithmic adieus.
