Today’s random word is Footpad.

With the gun aimed squarely against his steed’s temple, Caesar had no choice but to surrender the jewels. How the footpad knew about the jewelry heist boggled his mind, but now was no time for distraction.
He handed the bag of diamonds into the thief’s hand — robber to robber — with a wink, hoping his captor would give him a free pass to continue onward.
No such luck.
In a flash, Caesar was pulled from his horse to the ground and knocked unconscious.
When he awoke, his gold fillings were gone, and so was his horse.
The one he named Silver.
According to the Collins Dictionary, a footpad is “a robber or highwayman, on foot rather than horseback.”
Nancy Oglesby writes, “If you are unfamiliar with a drabble, it is a fiction story of exactly 100 words.”
