POETRY ON ILLUMINATION
A Spark Was Lit, My Soul Rejoices
An unscheduled poem to start or end your day with grace
Kevin Buddaeus got inspired by a short poem penned by the talented Gurpreet Dhariwal and in turn, Kevin’s poem inspired me to try. Within minutes the words had populated my blank page and who am I kidding, I need to share.
And wouldn’t it be nice if you too would take a line from mine and start a new one to keep the flame lit?
With a little more positivity and lots of kindness, you and I and Kathryn A. LeRoy, Ph. D. just might manage to heal our world (Tikkun Olam).
I shed my skin I shed my cares
For I know God’s extraordinaire
He sees my sorrows my soul does keep
His beacon’s bright for all His sheep
With promise strong I weathered storms
Assured His love is uniform
So now that Sun has gone to sleep
And Moon doth shine, my love is deep
My bed is warm
Reverent is my spirit
My eyes get heavier
By the minute
If tonight I travel to the promised land
I pray the Lord will take my hand
If I’m to see another day
I pray that He will guide my way
Shed all my cares
I feel adored
A choir of angels
In perfect accord
We are healing the world…
