Alaric reaches for his throat, his coughs echoing through the air. The chains clink against the wall as he strains. He glances in your direction, his features contorted in a plea for help.

But you both know the truth of the situation:

It’s you or him.

He takes a deep, shuddering breath as his spirit fades away…

A sense of dread floods your body, and your fists instinctively tighten. You remember the feeling of despair the burned village evoked.

So much killing.

“What?” Lorenzo asks.

“Was that necessary?”
