A Reason To Celebrate
Prompted poem — “all things celebration”
I’ve held my head high above the water for one more day —one blessed moment without the desire to sink and drown
Today, the water is calm and soothing and I bob in place — an anchored buoy and celebrate the sunshine upon my face
In this eternal sea, there is no past pain no troubling thoughts — all is left behind like debris upon distant, forgotten shores
Tomorrow doesn’t wait over the horizon nor gather sunrises — in all this vastness there’s only room for the sacred now
I stretch out my arms, feel the water ripple and extend beyond me —a butterfly effect spreading love and joy toward aching cliffs
If that love should touch but one lost being I will be complete —all despair and agony washed away and my life purpose fulfilled
