A Prayer for Strength in the Darkness

Let us not be afraid to leave the past behind

We honor today the winds of change, the transformative fires of the South, our brothers and sisters of the Wolf Clan, and the wild, hunchbacked witch within us who rose from the soupy black depths of the forest floor.

As we stand here in the darkness of mystery, perhaps in confusion, pain, or fear, we quiet ourselves in order to receive the peace of She Who Knows. We know it is time for change. We have already felt the tremors.

Grant us wisdom to leave the baggage of the past behind.

Grant us courage as we open our arms to welcome whatever comes.

We ask the Winds of Change to tear through us with the force of a hurricane. Sweep away the dust, the debris, and leave only rock, tree, and ocean.

Fires of the South, scorch our fields and leave us buried in the ashes from which we will rise with a greater power than we ever dreamed of possessing.

Sisters of the Wolf Clan, surround us. Tear the fetid, stinking, rotting flesh from our bones. Leave us lighter, newer, stronger, ready for the hunt, with sharpened teeth and eyes.

Witch, Wild Woman, push us into the cauldron, swirling us into the darkest depths of the earth. Let us emerge with mud in our hair, snails on our feet, and lichen on our arms. Let owls, ravens, and starlings fly in our wake, wolves, cats, and snakes follow our footsteps. Let our spines become as thick and strong as the redwood.

Our power is endless. Our strength is staggering. Our creativity has no boundaries. Our possibilities are limitless.

We are the most powerful creatures on this earth.

We are women.

We are goddesses.

We are wild and unstoppable.
