The axe lies on the ground, just out of reach from where you collapsed. You can almost grasp it, but a sharp, stabbing pain suddenly stops you.

Lorenzo chuckles.

“Very brave!” the sorcerer jeers. “But very foolish. I may be old, but I can react faster than it’ll take for you to attack.”

Lorenzo stands close by, grinning and laughing. You stare back, helpless. The malicious mage closes his eyes and throws his head back, howling.

He relishes your defeat in arrogant obliviousness.

In one fluid motion, you snatch the weapon with your fingertips and toss it at Lorenzo’s face.
