Dear Paper Poetry Patrons, Hello, Bonjour, Olá, Salaam, Hola, Nǐn hǎo, Konnichiwa, Guten Tag, Namastay, LOVE.
Someone has rightly said, “Love is the most powerful thing in the world”. Very well, that someone might not have heard about money. 😛 Anyways, jokes apart. If you have a roof over your head, food in your belly, and family by your side, oh boy! trust me, you are lucky. Amen 🙏
I hope you all have happiness in your hearts and have a reason to live. You are reading a Poetry Series newsletter, and we are delighted to roll out our 10th series.
Let’s just recap what Poetry Series is all about

- Claim a special spot in Paper Poetry publication.
- Have mention in the newsletter with your photograph.
- Enjoy increased visibility.
- Receive an e-certificate from Paper Poetry to use for your branding and endeavors.
- Cherish an experience of a lifetime; trust me, the journey of carving a series on a theme will be worth your time, effort, and a loving legacy.
Gunnen — Poetry Series #9
Before we introduce our 10th Poetry Series theme and the poet, we wish to bid a loving farewell to our 9th Series poet with well-due respect, love, awe, and admiration.
Ladies and gentlemen, let’s applaud Walter Bowne, who took on his poetry series by storm with his theme, Gunnen — the Dutch word for finding happiness in someone’s happiness because you love them so much.
Walter loves passionately, wholeheartedly, and from the depth of his soul. And always finds happiness in someone’s happiness because he loves them so much.
He crafted four poems on the theme Gunnen; in every poem, his passion and love are reflected, be it the birds and flowers in his garden or his love for his wife and daughters. We believe Gunnen comes naturally to Walter.
Read his first poem in which he pays Ode to a Catbird,
But then I think of you — your happiness — And I recall jumping from the Crow’s Nest —
Tune into his second poem; I Whispered a Prayer for the Life I Held in My Hands, to feel the emotions churned as he cares so deeply for the birds in his garden. And he whispers a prayer for the life he held in his hands.
You have a responsibility to the children of that Eden — The birds — my Eves and my Adams —
Gunnen gets more intense as he composes the third poem, writing alone at dusk while his wife is away. His words reflect how he misses his wife but completely understands and respects that she is needed elsewhere. Gunnen, indeed!
I write this to the empty bistro chair — Wanting you here, but knowing you’re needed;
In his last and concluding poem, Tossing the Dice to Happiness he writes by the Shasta Daisies and epitomizes Gunnen —
The black to your white — Moon to sun — The ocean to your land.
Below is the showcase of Walter’s work.

Thank you, Walter Bowne, for gracing Poetry Series with your meticulous craft. 🙏 💛

Upcoming Poetry Series: ‘Yeoubi’
Now is the time to welcome our 10th Poetry Series Writer.
This passionate poet finds her poetry in the rhythm of the falling rain, in the soothing of the setting sun, and in the ordinariness of a day. She loves to wet her sole to weigh in her soul in her effort to ode her healer — poetry.
A 3x Top Writer in Poetry, Art, and Photography, she enjoys word-cubism to add madness to her method of poetry writing.
Ladies and Gentlemen, drumrolls please, sit tight and welcome Monoreena Acharjee Majumdar.

Monoreena Acharjee Majumdar lovingly accepted to write a four-poem series on the theme Yeoubi, a Korean word meaning Sun Shining Through Rain.
We believe this theme is an extended version of Monoreena herself — soulful, artful, a paragon of patience, aesthetic, and full of love and life.
Visit her page, Soul Bay which attests to the soulful artist in her.
She took on Yeoubi with a fly’s death and weaved a story of sunshine and rainbow around it.
The sun within, luminous through her Mildly stretched lips —
She was born. Again.Inside her.
Click here to read her first poem, Of Flies and Butterflies, in the series, Yeoubi.
Monoreena, we can’t wait to see the Sun Shining Through Rain in your art and word-craft. Paper Poetry welcomes you warmly with open hearts ❤️
