September Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Comfort”

Not even the heavens remain unchanged.

When I get stressed, sometimes a deep breath and a look into the sky calm me.

It’s odd, really. You would think something static, something that remains the same, something you can count on, would bring more comfort.

But the skies are always different.

Even skies devoid of clouds have a different shade of blue. Or grey. Or black. Or a rainbow. Or stars.

But then there are the clouds — they can jump start my creative mind faster than almost anything. Full of possibilities.

It’s good to remember that change is not always bad — and it’s truly the one thing we can count on. Remembering that can bring comfort in our storm.

Kim McKinney is always amazed to find out she is more stressed than she thinks she is. Others set her straight as they note clenched hands or a rise in her voice. She needs to spend a lot more time peering into the heavens.
