A Guide For YouTubers To Get Monetize Quickly On YouTube
It takes me more than one and a half years for me to make my first ever penny from my YouTube Videos. I have shared tips for you that you might never implement on your YouTube channel.
The future of the Internet is video. 70% of the Facebook feed is the video and YouTube is the first-ever social media platform that pays its users to upload videos. You get paid for the number of views.
Before you go into the tips and tricks to get monetize on YouTube, you need to know that in every minute, 300 hours of videos are uploaded to YouTube. Quiet impressive statistics, frightening and at the same time, very demotivated. But, these statistics are bullshit. I am not saying these statistics are wrong but it is wrong in a sense of keyword research and difficulty.
YouTube will always be a very attractive platform for any influencer. People use Facebook to search for finding profiles of their crushes or the groups they are interested in, but this is not true for YouTube. YouTube is the world's second most visited search engine. You can reach your target audience just by making videos about that topic, simple.
YouTube makes you eligible for monetization if you have 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 public watch hours in previous 365 days.
The single most eligibility criteria. Getting 1,000 subscribers is not that difficult but getting 4,000 watch hours is the most hectic part of getting monetized on YouTube.
Targeting the search Engines
The very first thing you need to do is to target Google and YouTube search engine. YouTube algorithm ranks a video based on the “Watch Time” not on the number of total views. A video of 3 Minutes with 50k views might be in position 6 compared to a video of 10 minutes with 10k views. So, uploading quality content is also a very important part of getting ranked on YouTube. Follow the following tips to get your video to optimize for both the search engine.
- Upload long-form video.
- The most important part of the Video is your title and the Tags. Most of the YouTuber who aren't famous use long-tail keywords.
- Get views in the first 24 hours. This will accumulate some watch time.
- Write a 300–400 words description.
- Transcribe your video.
- Ask people to comment. The comment is also a very important part of the Video search engine optimization.
If you are new to YouTube and want to grow, first try to focus on “How to” videos. These videos will help you get organic traffic and this is the best thing about YouTube. Organic traffic for life. It takes time to get ranked so when you make a video, don’t expect that it will be ranked on top in a minute.
Longer Videos Will accommodate more Watch Time
Most people get confused about this. I am in the Medium Partner program too so longer read time stories make me more money than a shorter read time story. So, if you are wondering how this works? let me give you a short example.
Let for the sake of this video, the retention rate is 20% for both the video length.
- A video of the length of 10 minutes with 100 views, a retention rate of 20% means here that it has on average 2 minutes watch time/user which equates to 200 Minutes of cumulative watch time.
- A video of the length 5 minutes with 100 views, a retention rate of 20% means here that it has on average 1-minute watch time/user which equates to 100 minutes of cumulative watch time.
Which video length has more watch time? Definitely, the video with 10-minutes length.
Longer videos will give you more watch time and YouTube will also promote your content to your Subscribers.
Don’t just sit relax when your hit Publish button
It is way easier to promote your videos on the Internet than 10 years ago. Even if you are doing a job or have another business, you can still give it an hour to your YouTube channel to promote your channel.
You can embed your YouTube video on the following platforms.
- Quora: Quora is one of the best sites for YouTubers. You can promote your channel links on Quora and no it’s not spamming. The watch time you get from the embed also added to your YouTube.
- Medium: One of my favorite sites. It has a beautiful editor, you feel fun writing on Medium. If you do the keyword research right, your post might rank on the №1 spot on Google search.

68,000 views on my Medium story is 90% of the search engine. You can get that much traffic to your YouTube videos and get more people to read your stories.
Be Consistent, Be Unique
How many YouTubers talk about “Food” Alot, right? But, you follow tens of those people, why? the reason is “everyone is different” be unique in your own way, don’t follow other YouTubers, just be yourself, you are not like them, neither they are like you,
Be consistent with your videos otherwise the users that subscribed to your YouTube channel, will go and follow someone who uploads the same content and you may lose a follower. That’s the simple explanation for being consistent on YouTube. There are more perks too if you upload videos on your YouTube channel every day. Yes, you are doing YouTube full-time, upload videos every day.
Make a Playlist, add cards to your videos and End Screens
Make a playlist and combine all your videos into a single playlist and promote it. This will substantially increase your watch time. When you upload videos, you can add cards and end screens to convert single view to multiple views.
When you reached 4,000 public watch time, if you have all original content it may take 24 to 36 hours for YouTube to reach out to through your official email address and they will congratulate you on getting accepted into the YouTube Partner program.
