A Funny Bird Hiding the Magical Rainbow
January Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Fun”
When a seagull photobombed my timelapse.
It was such a magical morning. When I got up and crawled out of the tent I almost immediately saw the huge rainbow stretching across the lake. I boiled some water to make tea and oats and sat down on the beach with my breakfast in hand.
I set up my camera to take a timelapse of the rainbow and the clouds behind it moving across the sky.
Sitting there and admiring the beauty of the scene I watched a colony of seagulls floating along the shoreline of Lake Manapouri picking for food in the water.
It was peaceful. Except for their occasional, very distinct shrieking cries.
And then, this one seagull walked out of the calm and shallow water to seek more food on the beach.
Right in front of my camera.
Blocking the rainbow I was filming entirely.
Photobombing the scene.
I couldn’t be any different but laugh.
