Initial meeting attendees were Baskerville Old Face (BOF), Susan Brearley, and me; Amy Sea joined us after a bit. We laughed more after Amy arrived. In the Better Late Than Never category, may I always publish last Monday’s notes on Sunday as a teaser for the next meeting?
Zoomathon
“Talk up the Zoomathon” is my first note. I’ve failed already as I’ve hardly been online all week, let alone writing. Susan needed/wanted short selfie videos ASAP — I did do that.

I went out into my yard in the rain and recorded myself sounding stupid and looking like a nostril-flaring, pop-eyed, weird-haired lunatic. Wonder how many videos Susan got last week? We’re not especially disciplined around here.
I have taken 3 selfies — a liberal estimate — in my life. My Millennial daughter advised me never to do that again. I’ve posted a few supposedly scenic videos over the years on Facebook that didn’t feature ME, only my voice. Does anyone really like to hear their own voice?
Our Zoomathon is upcoming next Sunday, November 14, 2021. It’ll be at noon ET/9 a.m. PT in the USA. MuddyUm can host up to 100 people in Zoom. Per Susan:
Outlaws should dial in early by 5 or 10 minutes to assure your seat.
Are we being encouraged/allowed to talk amongst ourselves before Susan takes control of the meeting? Sounds like fun!
As I write this, I believe Mudditors are practicing for the Zoomathon tomorrow at 9 a.m. Pacific time. Our Monday Mudditor meetings are at 8 a.m. Pacific time.
Gadzooks, can’t I catch a break? MuddyUm sets sail in the Eastern USA time zone. I’m in the Pacific time zone, 3 hours earlier. Daylight saving time ends tonight. So I’m setting my Sunday alarm for the same time my body would’ve recognized as 7 a.m. last Monday. This Monday, my body will feel awakened an hour earlier than usual. Uff da.¹ My willingness to set an alarm is a measure of how much fun the other Mudditors are.
I demonstrated my belly-rolling and tongue-twisting abilities briefly to BOF. Susan may’ve been distracted by her overwhelmingly important chiefly executive responsibilities during that time. I welcome any distractions from note-taking.
Comedy Camp
Susan announced that Roz Warren will be part of next year’s planned Comedy Camp, yay! along with Scott Dikkers, whom we already knew about. The Cap’n will be setting up a website for Comedy Camp soon. BOF will be helping her.
Susan set up the site while we were talking!
Must be why I was demonstrating belly-rolls. BOF is encouraged to and will play with the site. Susan invited him via email to collaborate.
Miscellaneous Outlaw Stuff
MuddyUm’s writer’s contest is underway, which during this month at least may involve made-up words and BINGO. Susan provided MuddyUm’s official email address:
Why, exactly? Does Susan want to hear about all your Outlaw concerns via that email?
The BINGO words came to MuddyUm via Facebook. Maybe I was supposed to submit my tongue-twister video to Susan via email instead of DM. Oops! I forgot to include my oinking purple pig. Andrew Rodwin: Oh darn. Gadzooks. As if I give a fart for PDFs or PDAs or TMI or whatever the Hades it was you tagged me about twice recently.
Amy
- still needs or needed our drug pics. I still haven’t provided one. Is this in aid of a cannabis writing prompt? Too bad no one screenshotted me holding up Bon Bomb edibles at a previous meeting.
- talked about how her best is when she’s nervous and unprepared. “Celebrity doesn’t exist in isolation.”

The Cap’n is taking a class and raved about a textbook, Understanding Media Psychology, by Gayle S. Stever et al. She was so persuasive, Amy & I each ordered a copy. I hope Susan’s getting a kickback. It’s apparently going to be huge. We were fascinated to learn that the word “propaganda” was brought to us by the Catholic Church in 1622.
Amy asked Susan about the Garden of Neuro. I know about Circles and Kitchen Table Talks but haven’t yet participated. Am more interested now I know I don’t have to talk, it’s fine just to listen.
