A Few Heroes Who Stand in Opposition To Evil
The other day I heard something extraordinary coming from the floor of the House of Representatives. I heard a Congressman lament spending an entire year under the leadership of a Republican Speaker of the House to achieve not a single thing which could help the American people Congress is supposedly serving. Jim McGovern has only been in Congress since 2013 so he is still quite northeastern taciturn in his demeanor. Jim is not much for the spotlight, just for the glory of being lit up, but he is not shy about saying what exactly is on his mind. The spark for the event in question was our dearest sweetest Georgian Peach Marjory aka Miss Georgia Butt Plug.
Ms. BP had been waxing on about how unfair it was for January 6th miscreants to be treated like miscreants and a Congressman who had tried to open a locked door by pulling a fire alarm was only being censured by Congress. Mind you, Congress is only a few short weeks away from a brand-new budget crisis at which time all the tin hats will see how disruptive they can be. FYI, BP is the leader of the Tin Hat Caucus. Of course, she wants to play to the folks back in Dixie Land, so she acts the total fool and shows her behind so the folks will see how she “stands up fer hersef.” But Jimmy McGovern wasn’t having it. He actually said that he really didn’t think a lecture on morality from Ms. BP was appropriate. Who, as you remember, was dressed inappropriately and screamed out even more inappropriate things during Joe Biden’s State of the Union address. Jimmy just got down on the entire GOP in general, and Ms. BP in particular, for saying and doing asinine crap like Ms. BP’s self-serving comments about January 6th. You see, the rest of this story is Hon. James McGovern, a Democrat from the state of Massachusetts, was the last person to leave the floor of the Congress on January 6th. What was so extraordinary about what Jim McGovern said was that he was the best person in all of the world to call Ms. Butt Plug out for her craven behavior. And he did it with style and grace and as terse and to the point as he was able. There was no possible way to misunderstand what that man said that day. Jim, if you ever read this, please know that hearing your voice on the floor of Congress brightened an otherwise gray and boring day. Thank you.
In this same vein, there’s a fellow who is on James Comer’s committee who is lovingly referred to as a Smurf by Congressman Comer. Representative Jared Moskowitz got all up in James’ face and asked him why he was so het up over President Biden making a loan and getting payments on the loan when Comer and his brother did the same thing. Jared was so insightful that Comer retaliated by calling him a Smurf. Jared kind of gets off on yanking Comer’s chain, so you gotta love him, and God knows I wish he were a Smurf.
There is a Democratic Congresswoman from Texas that must be mentioned here. Jasmine Crockett. If you do not know this woman you’re not paying attention to the best parts of the world. This young lady does not have a bone in her tongue. She has delivered some of the most brutal attacks on, I guess we could call them this, right-wing proponents, and in particular their illogical musings and self-reveals. She often uses her black language roots to eviscerate white talking points that are so often regurgitated by her blissfully-unaware colleagues and she is just hilarious with her devastating on-point observations. She just might be the best Christmas present to come out of this do-nothing Congress.
Then there is Sergeant Aquilino Gonell. This gentleman battled the rioters on January 6th for four-and-a-half hours. He was interviewed by the MeidasTouch Network for an upcoming January 6th special to be released on that date¹. In a preview, he touched on such topics as Mike Johnson running out of the Capital and Mike being escorted by Capital police officers on that day to get Mike and his colleagues to safety. He states flatly without rancor that he stayed his post on that day. He also states that for him, Mike Johnson cosplaying January 6th innocence is Moral Injury. I suspect that in a face-to-face confrontation, Mike would be shown to be the Johnson that he really is. WWJD Mikey??????
Hats off to Sergeant Aquilino Gonell. A man who knows how he knows about what actually happened on January 6th. We as a nation are thankful for you, simply because you are an honorable man.
I also have to recognize Liz Cheney. All I can tell you is that there is a rumor that when some of the older law makers such as Moscow Mitch and Iowa Grassly hear Liz walking into a room they all visualize Harry Truman. She is a walking medical emergency for that geriatric bunch. (Google it). Liz clanks when she walks by the likes of Mikey the Maga Johnson, while Maga shrinks. Jim Jordan is afraid she will call him out to grope just so she can beat his ass. This one woman stood against The Orange Jesus when all her supposed colleagues bowed the knee and kissed the ring or whatever. She has called OJ out for the charlatan and grifter he surely has proven to be. She did not go along with the coup-plotters in the days before January 6th. I suspect that history will record Liz Cheney as one of this era’s most notable and noble individuals.
And last but not least in this appreciation of honorable people, are the prosecutors. AG James, AG Willis, and Special Counsel Smith who have all gone above and beyond to make sure that you and I have a Merry Christmas this year and many, many, more merry days in the years to come. They have stood against the most powerful anti-democratic forces we have seen in the last 150 years. Smith has been so thorough as to even have Trump’s burner cell that he used on January 6th. Willis has elicited plea deals with some of Trump’s closest attorneys. If those attorneys testify to what they actually know, Willis will have stood where honor resides and demonstrated the power of accurate accounting of reality. James has effectively dismantled the Trump brand in New York. And she has made the State of New York some admirable bank in the process.
The reason I wanted to take the time to mention these individuals is because much of what is interesting to write about these days revolves around Orange Jesus. I don’t even like to write his given name. Unlike that vile whiner, the people mentioned here are all honest and thoughtful. They support the system of government we live in. They do not try to use the system to subvert the system. Only silly people with non-serious agendas do that kind of thing. Maybe someone should truth Orange that cosplaying a win to shadow a loss is not a cool thing to do even for a spoiled little rich boy. Best be minding your P’s and Q’s, Chuy Naranjada. Santa’s gonna bring you a lump of coal in your stocking. And, uh, under that piece of coal is a card which says, “Do not pass go. Go directly to jail.” Sigh. If only “directly” didn’t take so long.
