A Dream of Dying

At the end of life, letting go

Photo by Joe Beck on Unsplash

I dream of dying. A wooden bridge, descending, at the end, nothing.

Rain soaked beams tilt high. I slide, gripping handrails, climbing hazy skies.

My world, falling down. I tumble over nailed planks. Fog’s abyss, below.

Death’s seesaw rocks me. I let go, rolling no more. Fear will let me be.

I’m crossing over. There is nothing before me. I have been released.
