A Dialogue With a White Supremacy Enabler
They all use the same tired arguments, deflections, and lies

Every now and then the distribution algorithm that runs the internet sees fit to drop an article of mine into a hive of ignorant, hostile, conservatives. At this point, in real life, I’ve managed to more or less expel all Trump supporters from my vicinity.
I consider anyone who doesn’t denounce the treasonous January 6th attack to be unworthy of my time. I’m not interested in debating that position. It’s what I think. Deal with it.
Despite all my efforts, I still run into a lot of these awful people. Whether it be the mom at my daughter’s school who has a “Let’s Go Brandon” sticker proudly displayed on the back of her rusted out mini-van, or the idiots at basketball practice who refuse to wear masks to protect their children, the inmates have escaped and overtaken our communities.
There is still a distressingly high number of ignorant Trump supporters out in the wild flapping their mouths. I’ve dealt with enough of them that I know how all their arguments play out. This article is an example of the underhanded tactics you’re likely to encounter if you make the mistake of talking to a Trump supporter.
The denials
When in doubt, simply deny reality.
Barely contained hostility seems to be the hallmark of the typical conservative. They feel that you are a lost sheep and that they’ve been sent by god to lead you back to the promised land whether you want to go or not.
They deny that white supremacy is a thing. They deny that the media ever says anything accurate. Finally, they turn around and accuse you of making problems seem worse than they really are.
“You spin a lot of half truths and outright lies to make white supremacy seem like a bigger problem than it is. I guess you’re just working to promote a predetermined narrative launched by the left leaning media.” — Random Trump supporter
They deny all racism except for “anti-white racism,” which is, of course, a complete fabrication. They won’t offer any support or evidence for the existence of “white racism,” but insist you have to take it seriously.
When you indicate that they don’t take real racism seriously so you shouldn’t be held to a standard of taking the fantasy of “white racism” seriously, they start to sputter. When you insist there is no such thing, they become offended and scream and rage that they are members of the most oppressed race in history.
You might as well stand back and laugh at them when they throw a temper tantrum like this because if you take it seriously you’ll go crazy.
Okay, there are white supremacists… but not many
The remarkable thing about delusional conservatives is how quickly they’re able to flip-flop their own positions without the slightest awareness that they’ve just undermined their whole argument.
They’ll often segue from a denial into an acknowledgement followed by a dismissal with a comparison tacked on at the end.
“I admit that there are a few white supremacists, but their number is so small that they don’t have any real impact. They’ve been effectively marginalized. You should feel lucky to live in the United States. Other countries engage in truly horrific racial cleansing.” — Random Trump supporter
They simply refuse to see the evidence of white supremacy all around us. Even when you argue that white supremacists with Nazi tattoos bearing Confederate flags attacked our Capitol, they’ll deny that white supremacy is a problem.
Even when you mention that the FBI released a report designating white supremacists as the most dangerous domestic terrorist threat, they’ll insist it’s “marginalized.”
Meanwhile they’ll continue to attack other groups even though no arrest records can be dug up to validate their beliefs.
They might even go as far as to denounce the FBI as a left-leaning agency, even though they claim to be on the side of law enforcement.
“Law and order, except when we’re the ones breaking the law.” — Random Trump supporter
An insistence on rewriting history
I used to think that the book 1984 was a bit of an extreme fantasy. It’s not. If you tried to write a novel about the clumsy methods evil people actually use to rewrite history, nobody would ever believe it.
Trump supporters are not above making an attempt to turn the Capitol riot to their political benefit.
“Non-white supremacist Republicans urged Trump to put an end to the Capitol riot.” — Random Trump supporter
We know from the latest discoveries of the ongoing January 6th investigation that Republicans all over the map begged Trump to call off the forces attacking our government. But all of this was done in private. They were covering their butts.
In public, conservatives were cheering on the attacks or minimizing them. It’s only when legal consequences start to loom that the cowardly right tries to manufacture a false appearance of loyalty to the nation.
Dismissing the impeachment
Any attempt to try and claim Republicans tried to end the Capitol riot can be easily refuted by the fact that those same Republicans failed to impeach him for his actions.
If they had done so, the nation would be much safer today because Trump would be barred from holding office. As it is, Trump can continue to fleece the dimwits who believe his lies, particularly the lie that he intends to run again.
“Impeaching Trump was just baseless partisan politics. It was a stunt that had no real basis in protecting our nation. The attack was largely condemned by the media and other politicians. White supremacy basically doesn’t exist in the United States. The groups that are largely responsible for violence in our country are Antifa and Black Lives Matter.” — Random Trump supporter
How can they call impeachment proceedings “baseless” when the Republicans refuse to even take a reasonable look at the evidence?
Then, unasked for, is the doubling down on the insistence that white supremacy is a boogeyman even though the FBI has provided evidence that it’s a problem.
Finally, you see the pivot to lie that non-violent groups like Antifa and Black Lives Matter are the true culprits.
This is a clinic on political propaganda and lies.
“It didn’t happen, but if it did happen it wasn’t a big deal, but if it was a big deal it wasn’t us.” — Random Trump supporter
The losers can’t say two words without incriminating themselves. Remember, these are the same people who broke into government property and were stupid enough to video tape themselves doing it and then post that video where law enforcement agencies could find it!
That’s an extreme level of dumb.
Finally, they accuse you of being unreasonable
When everything else has failed, Trump supporters will accuse you of being “close minded.”
“You seem absolutely convinced that you are right and you refuse to be open to other points of view. All the Republicans I know personally are clearly not white supremacists. There is racism in America, but the biggest current threat is from those that espouse anti-white racism.” — Random Trump supporter
The only way to answer this is to say that lies do not represent “a point of view.” Trump supporters never offer evidence for the things they think. They don’t offer studies conducted by respected agencies. They just take nonsensical conspiracy theories and build on them until they’ve got a tower that will topple over in a stiff wind.
When the tower does fall over, they want the government to reimburse them for their labors.
The biggest concern of Trump supporters is the oft repeated lie about anti-white racism. That should tell you everything you need to know. Trump supporters deny their own racism, but at the end of the day, the thing that they’re most afraid of is that they will one day be treated the same way they currently treat minorities.
On some dim, primordial level, they know they’re guilty.
Conclusion
This article was cobbled together paraphrasing real statements I’ve encountered from a variety of Trump supporters on my articles. I put them all together in one place so that you don’t have to go and mine for them.
I think the best tactic when dealing with unreasonable people like this is to keep sharing the various reports that show the FBI takes white supremacy very seriously. The FBI isn’t issuing warnings on Antifa. The FBI isn’t issuing warnings on Black Lives Matter. The FBI is afraid of the white supremacists.
The white supremacists are the REAL danger.
The problem in our country is that so many people have had their brains boiled in the cabbage water that is Fox “entertainment” that they have lost the ability to separate fact from fiction. They come at you with glossy eyes, dimly aware that they have a problem, but absolutely certain that you cannot be in possession of the answer.
“I’ve lost my sock.” — Random Trump supporter
“Look in your sock drawer.”
“I’m certain it’s not there, I think Black Lives Matter took it.” — Random Trump supporter
“Well, why don’t you try looking in your sock drawer?”
“It was an attack of anti-white racism!” — Random Trump supporter
“Did you look in your drawer? Why don’t you look in your drawer before you make a horrible accusation like that?”
“What’s the matter with you? Aren’t you listening to me? I told you it was Antifa and Black Lives Matter! Why are you so closed minded! Why do you keep babbling your lies incessantly?” — Random Trump supporter
“I found your sock, it was in your sock drawer.”
“You invaded my castle! I will now stand my ground!” (sound of AR-15 fire) — Random Trump supporter
All I can say is don’t talk to these people. That way lies madness. The modern Republican party is made up of sociopaths leading the insane*. They all belong in mental institutions or in jail. You have less of a chance of getting through to them than you would if you tried to convince a rock to write a novel.
Trump supporters are deranged liars with nothing positive to offer the world, much less you.
Stay away from them.
Be safe out there.
