The Whole Conservative Ideology Is Based on Being Irresponsible
Sooner or later, mature adults have to clean up after every rebel

Sure, I loved my time as a defiant adolescent. I loved being disrespectful to my teachers. Why should they tell me what to do anyway? I loved being disrespectful to my parents. Quit trying to control me! You lived your life! Let me live mine!
It’s fun to be a rebel and sit in a classroom and crack dirty jokes and throw things at the teacher’s head when he wasn’t looking. Haha! Seriously, who wants to read a book? I’d rather go out and shoot something! Shooting guns is way more fun than studying, and don’t tell me what medicine to take!
Yeah, it’s great to be a terror and to run around leaving messes that everyone else has to clean up. I don’t want to clean up that mess. You clean it up. Making messes is my job. Cleaning them is yours. Get to it servant!
Everybody goes through a period of blatant selfishness and self-indulgence. It’s part of the process of maturation.
The thing is, you hope that people will eventually recognize the error of their ways. You hope that people will come to understand that their selfishness hurts people. Some day you wake up and you see some little old woman or a child cleaning up some stupid mess you made out of carelessness and you realize that you should feel ashamed for your behavior. At that point, you start taking steps to becoming a responsible adult.
Unfortunately, about half our country does the exact opposite. Instead of maturing, they fortify themselves against personal growth and call it a political party. This is how conservatives think. They care nothing for anyone but themselves. I, for one, am sick and tired of having to clean up after them.
Do as I say, not as I do
Conservatives try to justify their self-indulgent ideology by attacking other people. They look at the mistake they made and accuse somebody else of making it. They want to force you to behave differently. They don’t like the way you worship. They don’t think you show enough respect for the country. They don’t think you work hard enough.
It’s never them, it’s always you.
Nothing you do will ever be enough for them. This is because, like all terrible managers, they criticize you to hide their own failings.
They claim they believe “all lives matter,” but they refuse to wear a mask to stop a deadly pandemic.
They insist their president created the vaccine, but then they turn around and say the vaccine is a health risk (but they still think their president doesn’t get enough credit).
They pretend they’re worried about the national debt, but the moment conservatives get control of the government they ramp up spending and they cut taxes for the wealthy.
Not one thing they do makes any sense!
Deep down they’re not rebelling against liberals or progressives, they’re rebelling against reality. They stomp around denying verifiable facts. They’re infants. They’re offended by the limitations of the physical universe.
“No, you can’t exist on a diet of sugar and fast food and have the body of an Olympic athlete.”
“Shut up liberal! Don’t tell me what I can or cannot do!”
They’re delusional children that can’t be entrusted with authority of any kind.
They’ve ruined health care, the climate, and the economy
I went out for a run the other day. For the first time in my life, I noticed that it looks like perpetual twilight in Wisconsin in December. The sun never rises very high in the sky, and the lighting is beautiful throughout the day.
I was born in Wisconsin. How was it that I’ve never noticed this before?
Then I realized it’s because throughout my life there’s always been snow on the ground in December. The snow reflects the minimal light and makes it seem brighter than it really is. Throughout the last few years, the snow has come later and later and later in the year.
We’ve destroyed the climate. What does this portend? Responsible people have been saying the consequences could be catastrophic to the human race. Conservatives have been laughing and throwing spitwads.
“You’re so stupid, that just isn’t happening. It was cold in Anchorage yesterday.”
Everything you’ve ever worked for your whole life will one day have to be sold at auction to pay for inflated medical bills. Why are you okay with that? Businesses like to brag about showing record profits, but wages have remained stagnant for decades.
The lie is out in plain sight. Why would you work for any of these businesses? Human beings are already at the breaking point. You can’t afford education. The education you do get has been corrupted by conservative sabotage. You can’t get a decent job. The job you do get is a dead end because conservatives are committed to bringing back slave labor.
You pay in to social security your whole life. Conservatives want to take that away from you, but not the payroll tax. No, the payroll tax will remain. All they want to cut is the benefit to you.
How can so many people be stupid enough to support them?
Why do conservatives have such influence?
I remember sitting in classrooms with a bunch of idiots who chortled about how they never studied and how they failed every exam. They were a constant disruption.
It only takes one disruption to ruin a class for thirty other students. Disruption is easy. Disruption takes no talent or discipline or intelligence or skill. Disruption is a way to steal attention and influence you do not deserve.
I was there to actually learn. Why doesn’t anyone care about my right to listen to knowledgeable people and better myself?
If you tried to kick the disruptive student out of the classroom, there was a huge protest. “But he has a right to an education!”
“SO DO I! HE’S FAILED! HE HAD HIS CHANCE! GET HIM OUT OF THERE SO THE ADULTS CAN TALK!”
The only thing our society seems to care about is kowtowing to undisciplined louts who want to scream and yell and cry and rage against reality. Then, when they’re held accountable by the forces of nature, everybody insists we should all rally together to bail them out of their problems.
How are they ever going to learn?
They have to be forced to bear the brunt of the consequences for their stupidity for a change.
Why do we enable them?
Conservatives can’t float without the support of liberal policies. If conservatives want to rage against socialism, then they should have their social security taken away, not ours. They should have to pay more to drive on roads. They should have to pay more into the military to ensure their protection.
Why doesn’t anyone ask an “anti socialism” Republican who constantly goes after your pension if he’s willing to give up his? Why aren’t they ever held accountable? All politicians are socialists. They’re paid in taxpayer dollars. They don’t make anything!
Our whole society is built around making concessions in response to the temper tantrums of infants. Yesterday, a man got hostile with me on Twitter because I dared to suggest that religion represented a philosophy of oppression.
As in, women aren’t allowed to hold positions of authority.
As in, women aren’t allowed birth control.
As in, women are denied their right to reproductive health care.
As in, religious groups spread hate speech against members of the LGBTQ community.
As in, religious groups want to impose their thinking on our children at schools.
As in, if you don’t obey religious teachings they threaten you with torment in eternal hellfire.
If that’s not oppression, I don’t know what is.
The list goes on and on. It’s a philosophy of oppression, yet conservatives have trained themselves that if this criticism is even floated in the context of a friendly debate, they are allowed to respond with physical violence and hostility. They feel they’re allowed to denounce not just your right to criticize religion, but your right to make any statement at all.
It’s insane. Conservatives are flat out insane.
Refusing to get vaccinated should have more consequences
Across the country, intensive care units are overwhelmed with idiot conservatives who bought into political grandstanding and deluded themselves into believing that not taking a vaccine was some kind of patriotic stand for freedom. They then went out, got infected, collapsed in a hospital bed. They’re now keeping decent, responsible people from having access to emergency medical care.
What if some drunk Trump supporter gets distracted by his 2024 campaign flags blowing into the cabin of his coal-rolling pickup truck and smashes into your daughter? The ambulance tries to take her to the ICU, but all the beds are filled with unvaccinated Trump supporters struggling with coronavirus?
How is that fair?
The real world result of the selfishness and irresponsibility of Trump supporters is that responsible people are made to suffer.
We should be talking about this.
If people refuse to get vaccinated, they shouldn’t be allowed to take up ICU beds. The rest of the public shouldn’t have to pay for their expensive treatments with the inflated cost of health care. Make no mistake, those of us who pay for insurance are also paying for the health treatments of Trump supporters that refuse to do the right thing.
I don’t want to pay for those ignorant freeloaders.
They made their choice.
Our social discourse needs a course correction
The reason conservatives have a strangle hold of what we’re even allowed to talk about is because they are the first to point the accusing finger. For some reason, decent people still believe conservatives are making honest criticisms.
“I have an obligation to listen to their point of view and try to find a middle ground.”
No! No you don’t! There is no honest discourse in the US, it’s driven by entitled man-children like Tucker Carlson who refuse to admit they’ve ever done anything wrong in their whole life. They sit there scowling on televisions screaming, “It’s YOUR fault, it’s YOUR fault, it’s YOUR fault,” just like a child in the back seat of a vehicle on a miserable family vacation.
“I didn’t throw the spitwad, it was him!”
Yes, conservatives are going to be very angry when we hold them accountable for all their dumb choices which threaten to ruin the world. They might even throw an embarrassing temper tantrum in the middle of the super market. Let them. It’s time that responsible people stood up for their right to voice their opinions.
We hold off on making counter-arguments to conservative positions because we know the truth and the facts will humiliate them. Humiliation is the end of civil discourse. We don’t want to make them cry. We’re missing the fact that they DESERVE to be humiliated because what they’re proposing is IDIOTIC!
Give yourself permission to say the things you know to be true. Call religion a philosophy of oppression. Insist that if conservatives want to denounce socialism, they need to give up their own social security checks and pensions, but keep their hands off ours (they can also stop driving on roads). They can’t force their mistresses have abortions while they take that right away from rape survivors. Demand that conservatives recognize we all have to pay for their dumb, self-destructive, and irresponsible policies and philosophical positions.
You can’t reason with a child having a temper tantrum. You have to take their video games away and send them to bed without dessert. Don’t dignify absurd statements by responding with respect. Conservative politicians have a huge platform and their stupidity is a bigger pandemic with more lethal consequences than any virus. The whole conservative platform robs our society of the opportunity to have a reasonable debate. They obstruct every advancement. They sabotage every decent idea.
The classroom is filled with responsible children ready to get to work. We’re sick of the handful of loudmouths who only know how to scream and yell and disrupt. Let’s let them know we’re tired of them. There are more of us, and we’ve had enough.
