A Cup of Coffee in A FEW WORDS.

I woke from a high-quality deep sleep this morning.

Stretched my back and yawned.

While rubbing my eyes and making an early morning trip to the bathroom, I detoured to the kitchen to prepare the kettle for a cup of coffee.

It has become my daily morning Go-To.

Is it about Robusta, Arabica beans?

I don’t know.

I am not a coffee connoisseur and my taste palates aren’t competent enough to distinguish them from their brother seedlings.

What I understand about coffee is the emotional uplift it provides me in the morning, when motivation to start work isn’t high.

Steam coming from the brew when hot warm is dispensed from the kettle to the cup almost always look inviting, and the colour that forms when the more water enters the cup is a familiar scene.

It starts from dark cocoa brown, slowly changing from medium toned brown to lighter shade of brown.

As the water fills up the cup, the spirit summoned enough mental energy to a point of focus where all eyes and mind is on the cup with the tablespoon constantly stirring till the water filled the cup.

Then a cube of brown sugar enters the cup for a sweeter touch of taste.

All of these are wonderful and not yet at its pinnacle of spiritual comfort.

Standing by the kitchen window and watching the light drizzle, a light breeze blew in my direction, passing me to give the warm interior a touch of rare occasional cool in a tropical country.

Bringing that cup of coffee up for consumption produces a visual effect on my spectacle lenses.

It fogged them.

And as the cup makes it way down to the chest level, the fog on the lenses subside and an ounce of warmth entered the body.

It is comforting.

And as if a miracle has happened, the fog in the mental valley is uplifted by the warmth from coffee.

It was comforting beyond words.

A couple of up-down movements with the cup sent jolts of motivation into the neurological circuitry, cranking the machinery of productivity into motion for the day.

And as it does always, the mind becomes ready and the fingers become willing.

As I start typing, I marvel at the brilliance that cup of coffee brought me.

Beyond motivation.

Beyond description in a few words.
